About Dr. Hyun Kim
Mi DENTAL was founded in 2018. Dr. Kim earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University College of Dentistry in 2010. Before becoming a dentist, he worked as a Computer Microprocessor Architect/Engineer for major corporations such as Samsung Electronics and AXIS Corp, a subsidiary of ARM Corp, which produces the main microprocessor for Apple’s iPhone. He is a member of the Chicago Dental Society, Illinois Dental Society, and the American Dental Association. Dr. Kim has been practicing dentistry for about 10 years.

I highly recommend Dr. Kim. He is incredibly professional, gentle, knowledgeable, and caring. He was very understanding of my daughter’s needs and extracted four teeth quickly and efficiently. Even when she experienced an anxiety attack, he remained calm and handled the situation with patience and skill. I truly appreciate his care and professionalism. I highly recommend him.

The dr and staff were very nice. I didn’t even wait 1 full minute before they called my name. Dentist was awesome! I had a routine cleaning and one of my fillings fell out and he noticed more cavity so he fixed it on the spot and after one shot of novacaine I didn’t feel a thing and I have no tolerance with pain and much anxiety when at dentist and he made me feel at ease. Very good and quick too. Highly recommend.

I do not recommend this dentist. I went with my 3-year-old child for the first check-up and both the nurses and the doctor have no attitude towards children. I had the impression that they worked there as a punishment. My child was treated very objectively.

They were able to see me right away for my tooth pain. The costs that they described to me didn’t add up with my insurance company. It was strange. He was also talking down on his staff and hygienist. I hated that.

He’s straightforward, let’s you know the charges up front. Actually discussed what the insurance covers and how much, very few doctors will do that.
This was my first dental visit in 5+ years so it would have been easy to say I need a lot of additional services but he was very thorough and didn’t push unneeded services. Very good experience. Will return and recommend.

Dr. Kim and his staff were amazing! Dr. Kim made sure I was in zero pain during my visit, and even when I was having an insurance hiccup, his staff didn't stop looking into it until it was corrected. I will definitely keep Dr. Kim as my primary dentist!

It was my first time at this office. I unfortunately waited over 30 mins - a lot of people came in at the same time. They were very professional though about getting everyone in as soon as they could. I went in for a cleaning and it was satisfactory. Dr is very gentle which was a nice change. The woman at the front desk is very friendly and helpful. Overall a good experience.

I am absolutely pleased with how Dr. Kim works. The doctor and the staff are very nice and understand. I like how they explain to you step by step how a procedure is done. I would highly recommend this dentist!
