About Dr. Igor Dekhkanov
Igor Dekhkanov is a dedicated and compassionate general and cosmetic dentist based in Brooklyn, NY. Dr. Dekhkanov earned his doctorate in dental medicine from the New York University College of Dentistry. He also completed his post-graduate residency training in general practice at the Jamaica Hospital in New York.
Dr. Dekhkanov routinely participates in continuing education opportunities to ensure that he remains relevant for his patients. Presently, he has completed an IDEA mini residency in endodontics to improve his root canal technique as well as several courses with Spear Education, a leading continuing education provider for dentists. He also takes advantage of seminars and workshops to sharpen his already considerable skill.
Dr. Dekhkanov performs many procedures, including tooth extractions, crown installations, root canals, tooth colored bonding, orthodontics, and other cosmetic and restorative procedures. His practice uses the latest in dental technology to optimize dental care, including digital radiographs, which minimize radiation exposure.
Dr. Dekhkanov is originally from the former Soviet Union and fluent in Russian as a result. He immigrated to the United States when he was 10 years old with his mother, who raised him single-handedly. He is newly married and overjoyed at the prospect of becoming a father shortly. He greatly anticipates and enjoys the time he gets to spend with his family. His hobbies include golfing, biking, drawing, and reading.

My husband & I live in the neighborhood & have been walking by Williamsburg Dental daily since it opened. We finally stopped in for an appointment yesterday (after not seeing a dentist for far too long) & both agreed ... Dr Dekhkanov is the best dentist we've ever had. I'm always grateful for the time I get with Dr. Dekhkanov. He's such a fantastic dentist. Unfortunately, I had to have a crown today due to a tooth that had a few fractures and was weakened by an older filling. I hate the Novocain needle but Dr. D's unique approach distracts me enough to enable him to shoot my gum without it hurting. Very creative and I'm so grateful for not having to feel the prick. Looking forward to finishing off the crown in a few weeks.

I was seen right away for a cleaning at a convenient time on the weekend. He was kind, quick, funny, and professional, and the cleaning went without a hitch. He recommended some additional services which I needed, and I feel comfortable going back for them.

This was one of the best visits i've had to the dentist. My dentist retired, so I was looking for a new dentist in the area. Dr. Dekhkanov was very helpful in answering all my questions, concerns, and he seemed to be much more up to date with dental knowledge than my previous dentist. Highly recommend!!
