About Dr. Ireni Barounis
Dr. Barounis prides herself on offering customized care to each and every one of her patients. Her patient-first approach is built on mutual trust and respect for the needs and preferences of each individual and excellent personalized communication skills. She believes that the mouth is a gateway to total body wellness. Your oral health can affect how you feel and impact your overall health and wellness. Dr. Barounis will create a comprehensive treatment plan individually tailored to your oral health needs, and your goals for smile restoration.
Dr. Barounis is committed to continuing education and regularly attends courses so that she can provide the best and most comprehensive care to her patients. She is an active member of the American Dental Association and the Massachusetts Dental Society and is a certified Invisalign provider.
Dr. Barounis specializes in smile design, Invisalign®, comprehensive restorative and general dental work, all utilizing the latest digital dentistry technology and techniques. Our team is trained to show you exactly what’s happening, with digital photos, and three-dimensional scans. Our goal is for you to be part of the discovery journey that includes an optimal diagnosis, and a digitally designed treatment plan for a solution that will work for your health goals.
After graduating from college and prior to receiving her dental degree from Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, Dr. Barounis spent two years working as an orthodontic assistant, trained by a very well-known and distinguished orthodontist. After receiving her DMD, she furthered her training by completing a residency in Advanced Education in General Dentistry at the Family Health Center of Worcester. Working in an underserved population she gained immense experience in all aspects of dentistry including endodontics and oral surgery.

I would highly recommend Dr. Barounis for your Dental Care! The whole staff was very welcoming and put me at ease right away. The best surprise that was very unexpected was after I signed in the receptionist gave me an I pad to circle anything I wanted to pamper me during my visit like a blanket, ear plugs, hand cream, eye mask etc. If you are lookng for a dentist who cares about your comfort, look no further!

It was nice to go to a dentist where they listened to your concerns and cared enough to be thorough. They cared about my comfort and constantly made sure I was comfortable throughout my appointment. They told me what I needed to hear, explained it well and gave me my options. I’m grateful I found this office. 10/10 experience coming from someone who hasn’t been to the dentist in years due to fear. I’m happy to go back and excited to care about my health again.

I have always been terrified of the dentist. After today, I absolutely LOVE going. Dr. Barounis is the absolute best dentist I have seen in all the years I’ve been searching for a dentist that I liked. Well my search ended today. Everyone is so welcoming and they make you feel so comfortable. They offer little extra services at the beginning from eye masks to neck pillows, headphones and TV. It’s a nice touch and makes it a lot less intimidating going for your appointment. We came up with a treatment plan that I am so happy with. I can tell Dr. Barounis actually cares about her patients because of the time she takes to explain everything to you. She answers all questions and you leave feeling confident in her care. I look forward to more visits here. I will recommend her to anyone that is looking for a phenomenal dentist. I even set up an appointment for my son who struggles going because he’s just as scared as I was. If I could give more than 5 stars, I absolutely would!

I recently had an incredible experience at Barounis Dental and I couldn't be more pleased with the care I received. From the moment I walked in, every staff member was so welcoming and friendly. I’ve never felt so genuinely cared for at a dentist's office before, which is saying a lot since I usually dread dental visits.
I was really impressed by the technology they use, which made everything from the x-rays to the scans and even the cleaning painless and easy.
Dr. B took the time to conduct a thorough examination of my mouth and walked me through everything. It was clear that she was genuinely invested in my oral health, which made a huge difference.
My favorite part of the experience was the comfort package they offer, which includes options like eye masks, TV and headphones, comfy pillows and blankets, etc. It really made the visit feel more like a spa than a dental appointment.
The hygienist was also amazing—gentle yet incredibly thorough. My teeth have never felt cleaner!

Was offered, and took, an earlier appointment on Aug. 5th (instead of on August 15th).
1st dentist I visited that offered a "Comfort Package" (blanket, warm cloth, headphones, Netflix, etc.). Great Bonus!
All women on staff and all made me feel welcome and offered great support. Anybody with "dentist anxieties" will feel at ease.

Dr Ireni answered all my questions and was vigilante about figuring out what was causing my tooth pain. She made me feel calm and heard and made what he normally an anxious thing for me going to the dentist not so bad. Also the relaxing options were very nice and so was the dental hygienist!

My son came in for his first official dentist appointment and was so happy to be there. The front receptionist was very welcoming and it took only a moment to wait. He was greeted with his name on a sign and smiles from the hygienist and she made him very comfortable. Overall, an excellent experience from the moment we walked in. I was greeted right away. The receptionist was very nice and I was offered a complimentary list of things I could ask for during my appointment. I was seen right away by the dental assistant and she was kind and listened to my concerns. Dr. Barounis was also very kind, listened to my concerns and explained everything to me. The dental hygienist was kind and thorough. I was nervous before my first appointment as I have not been to the dentist in many years. All staff made me feel very comfortable and were caring, thorough, and knowledgeable.

I have never had or even heard of such an exemplary dental (or other medical) experience. These ladies are doing everything right. Beautiful, clean, new office & equipment with a super friendly staff. Dr. Barounis explained things that have never been explained to me before and I think I finally understand how to maintain my oral health. I can't believe I'm saying this but I enjoyed this appointment and kind of can't wait to go back. I don't have a single bad thing to say and I will definitely be recommending this office to everyone and anyone. 10 out of 10!
PS - they offer extras like eye patches, neck pillows, and even Netflix!

So happy and relieved I don’t even know why I was nervous to go. I’ve already called two friends to tell them to go there. Sometimes things like appointments and medical concerns seem daunting, the team was understanding, incredibly communicative and created a plan I could understand and am eager to follow. I’m really grateful and only wish I had gone sooner. The insurance breakdown is super clear and also the info about my current health status and next steps to where I want to be don’t seem like chores, they seem like attainable goals for me and my health.

This was the best experience I've ever had in a dental office. Dr. Barounis and her receptionist/assistant were absolutely wonderful. They were both friendly and polite. They took care of my dental problem expediently. The dental offices were beautiful, quiet and immaculately clean (never before in my 75 years of life have I been so relaxed in a dentist's office.) There was no wait time. Dr. Barounis will be my forever dentist.

I have spent a lot of time in a dentist chair. I have genetically poor teeth and have had a lot of work done. I have relocated to the Franklin Foxboro area and have been looking for a new dentist.
I found one !! The office staff was friendly and full of fun. Dr B was professional but very friendly. She spent a lot of time with me and pointed out all of her concerns. I went because I have had some extractions and have visible “empty spots.” I was looking for a dentist where i could have extractions, fillings, implants, partial denture or other appropriate options in one place. She explained the results of my x-rays and her clinical exam and clearly offered me some options. The office staff took the time to check my insurance coverage and then calculate the office charge and tell me what I could expect financially. I booked an appointment for an extraction before I left the office.
