About Dr. Jamaad Abdi
Dr. Jamaad Abdi graduated with honors from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, receiving her Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree. Dr. Abdi then elected to pursue further training by completing an intensive General Practice Residency at the level 2 trauma center at St.Barnabas Hospital in New York, New York.
During her training at St. Barnabas Hospital, Dr. Abdi was directly mentored by the Chief of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery in performing advanced surgical procedures such as implant placement, sinus augmentation, guided bone and tissue regeneration, L-PRF therapy, surgical extractions, autotransplantation, endodontic microsurgery and periodontal surgery.
Dr.Abdi is passionately involved in research and has authored multiple publications in peer-reviewed journals. She was selected as a President’s Fellow, a prestigious, yearly distinction granted to one dental student at the University of Maryland. In this mentored fellowship, she worked alongside the President in developing recommendations to the university, subsequently publishing a university-focused white paper.
Dr. Abdi stays current on the newest techniques and principles in dentistry with hundreds of hours of clinical and didactic continuing education (CE) courses,and is a Certified Invisalign Provider. Dr. Abdi is a member of the American Dental Association, the Northern Virginia Dental Society, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Maryland Academy of General Dentistry and the American Association of Endodontists. In her free time, Dr. Abdi enjoys traveling, fitness, and spending time with friends and family.
