About Dr. James Hu
Dr. James Hu is a recent transplant from the Midwest who brings his Midwest charm and dental knowledge to treat our patients with the utmost respect and kindness. He earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from Midwestern University in Illinois, graduating at the top of his class. He then completed an advanced general practice hospital-based residency at UChicago Medicine at NorthShore University HealthSystem in Evanston, where he treated medically complex patients, advanced full-mouth reconstruction cases, and all aspects of cosmetic and surgical dentistry.
Early in his career, Dr. Hu quickly learned the importance of the golden rule - do unto others as you would have them do unto you - and this is a mantra he lives by to this day. He treats all his patients like family and ensures comfort and ease throughout every procedure. With his love for technology, Dr. Hu enjoys incorporating all aspects of digital dentistry into your care. He is also fluent in Mandarin Chinese to assist patients who require additional language support.
Outside the office, you will find him with his wife and son exploring everything the Pacific Northwest has to offer, including hiking trails, salmon hatcheries, fishing, and eating his way around the neighborhoods.
PLEASE NOTE - MEDICAID is NOT ACCEPTED in our office at this time, neither in-network nor out-of-network. We currently accept only MEDICARE plans. We are working diligently to offer services to members of Washington state Medicaid plans in the future and hope to be part of the program soon.

My appointment was canceled by the dental office, I wasn't aware, but the sent a text message that morning, saying they weren't available at the time scheduled. I'm disabled so I had to make arrangements to get Access to provide transportation. Ended up sitting there for several hours without I t getting my teeth clean.
Zocdoc might need to update their availability.

I should have listened to the other negative reviews. I visited them only for a teeth cleaning and declined any exam, visit with the doctor, or any other services. Front desk staff then billed my insurance company for services that were never discussed nor requested.
When I called, their front desk staff told me that them billing my insurance was a "courtesy". Just completely dishonest and condescending. Not to mention another one of their staff hung up on me when I called to discuss the charges. I will be going elsewhere and suggest others do the same.

Do not go here unless you're going for cleaning services only. I booked with Dr. Wu after not going to the dentist for some time due to my anxiety. I thought I was in good hands, and when I experienced pain in the fillings he did, I was told to wait a few weeks. He continued onto my right side fillings. I cannot eat ANYTHING unless it is soft. I cannot floss at all without significant pain. After looking at buried reviews, it appears to have happened to several other people. right side adjustment created a crater in the surface of my tooth. He had looked at a chipped tooth and told me that it could be filled, but would likely fracture in the future and recommended a crown. I had intraoral pictures done of this tooth about 3 months before seeing Dr. Wu. After noticing far more discomfort than ever, in the two years it has been chipped, I got additional pictures taken - the chipped tooth now looks like it has been carved out even further. Very precisely.

This is an immigrant owned office which they are very proud of, and since I'm retired and on Medicare I do not have insurance. They connected me with someone from Preferred Benefits Partners to help me receive government allocated resources to help pay for my procedures. Definitely recommend them to anyone, especially if you have little to no dental insurance. They made me feel right at home.

My old dentist office stopped taking my insurance, so I had to find someone else. I haven't seen dentist since pandemic, around 2 years. Most of the clinics are booked up until October, Go dentistry can put me in within a week. I'm so happy with the service, from front desk Elaina, hygienist Candace and Dr Hu and two more staffs who served me, they were all excellent and knowledgeable. They checked on me thoroughly.

Me and my husband went to see Dr. Hu for the annual cleaning.
LORI, the hygienist, did the cleaning for me and the deep cleaning for my husband's half tooth. Lori is great. Good at her job, a great listener and so nice. 5 STARS for her from both of us.
Dr. Hu did my husband's other half deep cleaning and some fillings. He didn't do a good job for both of them. After cleaning, my husband's teeth (ones that Dr. Hu cleaned) became so sensitive to cold and it lasted over a month now. And for the filling, he filled two teeth together and now he can't floss between them. That's so UNPROFESSIONAL. And we both didn't feel heard when we talked with Dr. Hu. It looks like he always has something in his mind, looks unfocused, and no eye contact.
Also, their customer service is terrible. Teri, the receptionist is rude. She canceled my appointment 4hours before the appointment which I booked a week ago using their ADVERTISED online booking system. She never said sorry to me and gave fault to me.

Glad I found Dr. Hu on Zocdoc.
My dentist retired and apparently there is a hygienist shortage. Scheduking and rescheduling appointments was difficult. Didn't want to wait another 4 months to have an overdue cleaning.
Dr. Hu's office contacted me before the appointment by text. That made communication easy. Staff was friendly and professional. After x-ray, exam and cleaning were done by Dr. Hu. Great bedside manner and efficient. I usually prefer to go to local providers in my neighborhood, but I will drive 30 min to Dr. Hu's office twice a year.
