About Dr. James Osmun

Dr. Osmun encourages you to be involved in your dental treatment in order to achieve the best results possible. He is attentive to you as a patient and actively fosters teamwork between you with your home-care and his staff to optimize your dental health. He was awarded his dental degree from the Marquette University School of Dentistry. Away from the office, Dr Osmun is a full-time father. Managing his children’s increasingly varied extra-curricular activities keeps him on his toes. He enjoys seeing his children develop and have experiences. His favorite activity is seeing his children perform on their stringed instruments.

It was a nice experience. However, I waited 45 minutes before seeing the dentist. Because they were very busy, I had to come back at 1pm for a teeth cleaning for my left side and then schedule my next appointment for my right side. Unfortunately, I had to reschedule two week out due to time constraints. But the staff was very nice and accommodating.

I was surprised to learn, after my x-rays, that I would need to return the following week for the cleaning. I realize they were shuffling staff as one hygienist became ill, but it would have been nice to have a more courteous interaction about the inconvenience. It was just assumed that I would need to re-schedule without apology or emotionally intelligent response. Overall, the functional effects of the exams were competent. I am satisfied with their demonstrated skill. Do the folks at Gentle Dental care about positively engaging with patients, getting to know them, offering them kind words of appreciation for their business? Not from my experience.

Dr has a great demeanor and is a very good communicator. He listened even though I know he disagreed with most of what I was saying.
