About Dr. Javier Mejia

Dr. Javier Mejia is a highly skilled orthodontic specialist with a passion for transforming smiles. Born and raised in Colombia, Dr. Mejia earned his Doctorate in Dental Surgery (DDS) from Javeriana University in Bogotá in 1990. After dental school, he spent nearly a decade practicing and refining his clinical skills before deciding to move to the United States in 1999. Upon successfully passing the National Dental Boards and meeting all ADA requirements, he became licensed to practice in California in 2002. After several years of working in Southern California, Dr. Mejia developed a strong passion for orthodontics, leading him to pursue advanced education in the field. He returned to El Bosque University in Colombia, where he completed three years of Orthodontic Specialty training and earned a Master’s Degree (MS) in Orthodontics. When he’s not creating beautiful smiles, Dr. Mejia enjoys spending time with family and friends, traveling, listening to music, reading, and outdoor sports.
