About Dr. Jill Varriale Goncalves

Dr. Varriale Goncalves grew up on Long Island, New York, and attended Binghamton University – graduating with honors. After graduating dental school at University of Pennsylvania, she was accepted into New York University's orthodontic residency program where she received her certificate in orthodontics and dentofacial orthopedics. Throughout her orthodontic residency, she received training in multiple fields including Invisalign, lingual braces, orthognathic surgery cases, and more. She also studied the biology underlying tooth movement and published her award-winning research in the Journal of Dental Research, one of the field's top journals. After completing her residency, she pushed hard to attain the highest plateau in orthodontic excellence by passing the written, oral and clinical board of orthodontics – becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics. Although board certification was voluntary, and involved a lot of training and hard work, she did it to know for sure she had achieved the best possible training in orthodontics. Now she has the assurance that she is treating her patients at the highest standard in orthodontics.
She lives on Long Island with her husband Marcus, daughter Viviana and son Cameron. In her spare time, she enjoys playing violin, piano, tennis, trying out new restaurants and staying active in the community. She also continues to attend regional and national conferences to make sure she is always up to date with the latest research and technology.

So grateful I found Dr Goncalves! She was thorough and honest during our consultation. She explained that a prior accident I had involving my mouth actually made it dangerous to attempt braces or Invisalign and therefore recommended me against any treatment. She recommended a retainer to keep my teeth the way they are currently. Not sure how many orthodontists out there would have been that honest with me, putting my safety and best interest first. So happy I went to see her instead of just trying at home aligners. Highly recommend!!

This office is amazing . I found this place on ZocDoc and I am so very pleased very clean Zen and Beautiful……The services given are always above and beyond patient kind and friendly. My son broke his bracket one week after getting his braces put on and one day we showed up in the morning with no appointment frantic they were already open ready to work fifteen minutes before the time online friendly and diligent. I wish i wouldve gotten braces instead of veneers the Dentist is beautiful nice and professional so are the assistants and front desk staff We Love Lilly we’re grateful we faithfully stumbled into this office. I cant wait for someone to complain about their child’s teeth so I can refer them to this clean hygienic professional friendly reasonable kind patient Zen with Good vibes office in a conveniently safe and comfortable neighborhood close to LIC and Manhattan and Krispy Kremes Starbucks Dunkin’ Donuts McDonald’s and the N/W Train

I called before making an appointment to make sure that the staff wore masks and they followed basic COVID protocol to keep their patients safe. They assured me that they did over the phone. When I showed up to my appointment no one in reception was wearing a mask and neither were the people who saw me during my consultation.
It was an unsafe experience and I will not be returning. You should never lie about things like covid safety.

I went to a different dentist for an ortho/invisalign consultation and they were so vague and unhelpful that I booked an appointment with Dr. Goncalves as well, per a referral from my dentist. My experience was completely different here. The staff were friendly and all of the information--Dr. Goncalves's opinion on my procedure and what problems she saw and timeline--including payments options and plans were very well and thoroughly explained. I'm very glad I chose to come here as a second consult--even though my treatment will be more here than at the other office, I feel more confident about proceeding with it.
