About Dr. Joanna Meekay
Dr. Joanna Meekay is a board-certified Diplomate of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry. A Northern California native, she grew up in a large Armenian household in Sacramento. After college, she attended dental school at the University of the Pacific, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree. During dental school, she served as social chair for her class and dental fraternity, Delta Sigma Delta, participated in dental mission trips, was a founding member of an advanced treatment planning study club, and received the Henry Sutro Clinical Excellence Award.
After earning her DDS in 2017, she completed a general practice residency at NYU Langone – Brooklyn. After spending one cold winter in New York City, she returned to the Bay Area to complete her pediatric dental residency at the University of California, San Francisco Parnassus Campus. During this time, she also obtained an M.S. in craniofacial sciences.
Joanna loves to take her mini poodle on walks in her San Francisco neighborhood, catch up on podcasts, and play tennis. When she isn’t trying new restaurants with friends in the city, you can find her playing hide-and-seek with her seven nieces and nephews! Joanna is excited to join the fabulous team at Marina Grins Dental!

We’re so happy to have find Dr. Meekay at Marina Grins. I recently brought my daughter, Hazel, to see Dr. Meekay and the entire experience was fantastic from start to finish. Dr. Meekay is very warm and patient and I highly recommend to any parents looking for a kind and skilled pediatric dentist.
