Dr. John Hasenkopf, affectionately known as Dr. Jack or Dr. H, is passionate about helping his patients achieve radiant, youthful smiles while embracing healthy lifestyle choices. With a deep appreciation for the art and science of cosmetic dentistry, Dr. Hasenkopf specializes in creating naturally beautiful aesthetics through minimally invasive techniques. He believes that a confident smile is not only a reflection of physical health but also a gateway to a better quality of life.
Dr. Hasenkopf's journey to becoming a dedicated dentist began with a strong foundation in education and athletics. He earned his undergraduate degree in Kinesiology from the College of William and Mary, where he excelled both academically and as a Division 1 gymnast. Driven by a passion for helping others, he pursued his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the Virginia Commonwealth University School of Dentistry. There, he gained the knowledge and skills that now enable him to provide exceptional care to patients of all ages.

The girl at the front desk was completely clueless. She said she didn’t refresh her booking screen for 3 days and never saw or confirmed my appointment. Even though I called to confirm after booking and everything. I drove all the way over there just for the desk girl to say she didn’t see my appointment and couldn’t fit me in and had no early afternoon availability on any day I suggested. Can’t rate the provider because I was never able to be seen.

I haven’t been to a dentist in years and I’m extremely fearful of dental work. I began having tooth pain and had no choice but to handle it, I LOVE the staff here. Both the hygienist and the Doctor were so sweet and non judgmental. They both put me at ease and made sure I was comfortable during the entire procedure. Highly recommend them and I will be returning!

Wow first off, I had a great experience here! I found Dr. Hasenkopf last minute on Zocdoc and I’m so happy I went with him! I’ve always been so skeptical of dentists because of traumatic experiences in the past. Dr. Hasenkopf was so warm, friendly and had such great care and bedside manner. He made me feel so comfortable and was so gentle, always asking if I was in pain along the way. 10/10 experience!

I’d been putting off going to the dentist since moving because I always dreaded it—but after visiting JBH Smiles, I wish I’d made my appointment sooner. Dr. Jack, and truly everyone there, is so kind and makes you feel completely comfortable. They went above and beyond to give me the care I needed and did an incredible job.
I needed a filling and usually feel anxious during the shot, but Dr. Jack is so smooth with it. He has a calm, encouraging energy that instantly puts you at ease—hyping you up, checking in often, and making sure you’re okay every step of the way. No matter how busy he is, he always takes a moment to connect with you on a personal level.
I even scheduled my husband’s appointment on my way out, and he agrees—we’ve finally found our dental home.

I was very happy with my visit with Dr. Hasenkopf. He is replacing a very old crown that had broken. All went smoothly and he was able to get started on it right away after my teeth cleaning. All went smoothly and I look forward to having my permanent crown soon.

Meeting jack sharing my concerns with a dentist that takes time to listen, who offers diffent options for me is very comforting, his genuine concern and caring is very real, his procedures are painless and its a pleasure to be in his chair knowing that there is nothing to worry about- his team from the front office (nicole) to all the way in the back are flawless.
