About Dr. Jose Mariscal

Jose M. Mariscal, DDS is a Chicago native and has practiced in all areas of general and cosmetic dentistry. His keen attention to detail and aesthetics makes him an ideal complement to the always friendly and caring In Smyle Dental team, which he joined in December 2009. Dr. Mariscal graduated with honors from the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) College of Dentistry. While at UIC, Dr. Mariscal completed research in restorative dentistry focusing on composite/adhesive tensile/flexion forces. His research placed first for Clinical and Behavioral Sciences Research in 2007 and 2008 for UIC College of Dentistry Clinic and Research Day. Dr. Mariscal excelled in clinical dentistry while at UIC and was subsequently selected as a teaching assistant for PEDD 344 Introduction to Pediatric Dentistry, where he instructed second-year dental students with preclinical restorative preparations for pediatric patients. Jose was also 1 of 12 students chosen, based on exceptional clinical skills, to rotate between three extramural locations within the Chicagoland area including Erie Dental, Union VA, and Oak Park Infant Welfare Center. Dr. Mariscal received an award from the American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry in 2009 and is actively pursuing continuing education in the areas of cosmetic dentistry, endodontics, and implant surgery. He has received Mastership certification through the American Dental Implant Association which is awarded to members who demonstrate the highest standards in implant dentistry and who seek national recognition for their extensive training and dedication to their profession. He is also a certified provider of Invisalign®. Dr. Mariscal is fluent in English, Spanish, and basic conversational Italian.
