About Dr. Karen Sierra
Dr. Sierra's journey to becoming a dentist was a unique and inspiring path. Raised in the South Bay area of Los Angeles, she discovered her passion for dental health while volunteering at a children's dental clinic in Inglewood during college. She deferred graduate school to serve as a Community Health Volunteer in the Peace Corps in Paraguay for two years. There, she taught nutrition and dental health in local schools while partnering on larger health initiatives across the country. This experience solidified her love for service and helping others. Applying to dental schools from Paraguay proved challenging without steady internet access, but her perseverance paid off when she was accepted into the University of Southern California’s prestigious dental program, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree.
Following dental school, Dr. Sierra completed a residency in General Practice at Rancho Los Amigos National Rehabilitation Center, further honing her clinical skills and deepening her commitment to comprehensive patient care. Through her past experiences with community outreach and service, Dr. Sierra brings a truly holistic perspective to her dentistry practice. Dr. Sierra at Emerald Dental Studio is super thorough, gentle, and really takes the time to walk you through everything. She’s always on time, which I really appreciate, and the office itself is stunning and so inviting. Plus, she has the best bedside manner and there’s tons of parking—can’t recommend her enough.

I recently switched to Dr. Sierra because she was highly recommended by friends, close to home, and her office is an absolute dream. She is open on Saturdays, which allow for flexibility when I don’t want the kids to miss school for their cleanings and annual dental work. I went for our first appointment and immediately felt comfortable. Dr. Sierra’s initial exam was thorough. She does a great job of explaining everything and trust her recommended treatment. I have never waited longer than a minute to be seen and the kids love seeing her. Thank you, Dr. Sierra!

I had an outstanding experience at Emerald Dental Studio with Dr. Karen Sierra, DDS. From the moment I walked in, the staff was warm, welcoming, and professional. The office is beautifully designed, spotless, and has a relaxing, modern feel that immediately put me at ease.
Dr. Sierra was absolutely fantastic—she’s incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and gentle. She took the time to explain everything clearly and made sure I was comfortable during the entire visit. I really appreciated her attention to detail and how much she genuinely cares about her patients.
The hygienist was also amazing—thorough but gentle—and my teeth feel great! I left feeling confident about my dental health and so grateful to have found such a great dental team.
If you’re looking for a dentist who truly goes above and beyond, I can’t recommend Emerald Dental Studio and Dr. Karen Sierra enough. I’m actually looking forward to my next visit!

I can’t recommend Dr. Sierra enough! I’m usually a pretty nervous patient when it comes to anything dental related, but she immediately put me at ease. She’s not only incredibly knowledgeable, but she also takes the time to explain everything in detail, which I really appreciate. I never felt rushed or uncomfortable. She genuinely cares about her patients and it shows. If you’re looking for a dentist who’s patient, thorough, and makes you feel comfortable every step of the way, Dr. Sierra is the one!

I highly recommend Dr. Sierra for several reasons. Firstly, her office environment brings a sense of calm and welcoming energy. Secondly, she is very attentive and has a great bedside manner. Lastly, when she worked on my teeth she was extremely gentle and careful. This was the first time I didn’t feel any anxiety about being in a dentists chair.

Dr. Sierra is so knowledgeable, kind and patient. She was made me feel so comfortable and calm(I hate dentist so that says a lot. I highly recommend. The office is beautiful it feels like a sap. Overall my experience was amazing!

I took my daughters to Dr. Sierra and they loved her. She was so good with them and they were very comfortable with her. They were afraid of dentists and with Dr. Sierra they jus let her do what she needed to do.
The environment is so friendly and they are so helpful. I recommend to anyone that has had bad experiences to try Dr. SIERRA she will make your experience way different and better.
