Meet Dr. Ritzau
Professional background
Dr. Kristen Ritzau was named to the prestigious 40 Under 40 list of the country’s top dental providers by Incisal Edge Magazine in 2015. Shoreline Dental Studio was voted the top dental office in San Clemente by the San Clemente Times and SC Lifestyle Magazine in 2017. It was also named to the Orange County Best Places to Work list in 2018.
Dr. Ritzau is also the author of Distinctive Dentistry: Obtaining an Unparalleled Dental Experience and a Healthy Smile for Life. She was also named to the Board of the American Academy of Clear Aligners in 2018 and achieved Gold+ Level Provider status by Invisalign for her clinical excellence with Invisalign. She graduated at the top of her class from University of California, Los Angeles earning the prestigious Alpha Omega International Award.
In addition, Kristen has a passion for giving back to her community. The granddaughter of a Marine, she’s chosen to partner with Smiles for FREEdom to provide an annual day of free dental work to U.S. veterans. During the inaugural event in 2017, Shoreline Dental Studio provided over $40,000 worth of free dental services to veterans on a single day! Dr. Ritzau has also participated in numerous dental missions trips in countries including Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and the Dominican Republic and has been recognized by the Wyatt R. Hume Scholarship Foundation and the International Dental Implant Association for her contributions.
Dr. Ritzau was the captain of her collegiate soccer team at Point Loma Nazarene University and also earned awards as a two time All-Conference player. She also enjoys running and has completed two marathons to date. She enjoys spending time with her two young children, Hayley and Hunter. She is involved with her local MOPS group and can be found at the beach with her family in her free time.

I love everyone at Shoreline Dental!! Dr. Ritzau is awesome. They are my new dental office. Didn’t have to wait long and everyone is so friendly and nice. I will be going back regularly.

My visit was a fantastic experience at Shoreline. The staff is so welcoming and helpful. Austin and Marissa have been so knowledgeable and do an amazing job cleaning my teeth. Dr. Saad and Dr. Ritzau take the time to explain every step and answer all my questions.

I had a great experience at Shoreline dental from check-in to treatment to check-out. Their new office is beautiful with all the latest technology and everyone was very professional and kind. The headphones helped me to relax and drowned out the noise from the drill. Dr. Ritzau always does a remarkable job and makes sure you are comfortable and things are done right.
I would highly recommend this office for all your dental needs!

Dr. Ritzau is amazing. Kind and caring as well as very informed, knowledgeable and confident. The hygienists and all staff members are fantastic!!! You never feel rushed or not a priority regarding your health , comfort and overall experience.
