About Dr. LaToya Callahan

** All new patients must provider an up to date dental referral & x-ray prior to the visit** Dr. Latoya Callahan, a Georgia native, grew up in Detroit, Michigan. She went on to attend Howard University College of Dentistry, where she earned her Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree. She completed two years of a General Practice Residency (GPR) program at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center where she served as Chief Resident. After practicing general dentistry for a number of years, she decided to pursue a long-standing goal of a career in orthodontics. She completed a 3-year specialty residency program at Bronx Lebanon Hospital Center where she earned a certificate in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics. Practice Philosophy Dr. Callahan recognizes the significant impact that orthodontic treatment can have on one’s self-esteem and confidence. The results can be positively transformative. She believes that it is key that the relationship between the patient, the orthodontist, and the rest of the team of dental professionals is a collaborative one, where the orthodontist carefully listens to the patient’s concerns and helps the patient to navigate treatment options to arrive at the optimal plan best suited to achieve their treatment goals. Dr. Callahan enjoys engaging patients with an excellent chair side manner during the treatment journey to obtain a beautiful smile. She employs conservative treatment techniques to deliver outstanding outcomes while maintaining oral health, which she believes above all is paramount. Dr. Callahan lived and practiced in the New York metropolitan area for over 13 years before deciding to return to the area that she enjoyed so much while attending dental school in Washington DC. She currently resides in Maryland with her son.
