If these are not received ahead of time, your appointment may need to be rescheduled. Dr. Leonardo Rios- Andersen was born in Leon, Nicaragua and raised in Puerto Rico. He graduated from college with a degree in General Sciences from the University of Puerto Rico in 1995. He attended the University of Puerto Rico School of Dentistry on an Air Force Health Promotions Scholarship and graduated MAGNA CUM LAUDE with a Dental Medicine Doctorate D.M.D. degree in 2000. He completed a four-year residency at the University of Puerto Rico- Medical Sciences Campus and graduated with a Post-Doctoral degree in Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery in 2004. He served in The United States Air Force initially as the Chief of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Misawa Air Base, Japan and then at Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska. Where he provided Surgical Services, Readiness and Continuing Education training for Dental/Medical Officers, Dental/Medical Technicians and Support Personnel in both locations. He also served as a faculty member for the Advanced Education General Dentistry and Triage Team Chief for the 35th Med Group, Elmendorf Air Force Base, Alaska from 2008-2011. He is married to his wife Rebecca, and they have 3 children. Dr. Rios enjoys the outdoors and doing numerous activities such as climbing, photography, hunting, fishing, and archery. He truly enjoys his family and friends, loving God, and community through his church family.
