About Dr. Lisa Tran
Lisa D. Tran is originally from Pennsylvania and completed her dental school training at the prestigious University of Pennsylvania. While in dental school, she was in the Clinical Dentistry Honors program, received the Vernon Brighten Research scholarship, was an active member of the Oral Cancer Society, and volunteered her time in the community. She then relocated to New York for a General Practice Residency at NYU Lutheran Medical Center and obtained her Endodontic Certificate at the same hospital in 2016. She recently made the coast-to-coast move with her husband and is now residing in San Jose, California.
Currently, Dr. Tran is on her way to becoming a Diplomate of the American Board of Endodontics. She is a member of the Association of American Endodontics, American Dental Association, Santa Clara County Dental Society and the Northern California Association of Vietnamese-American Dentists. In her free time, she loves to travel, spend time outdoors and likes to stay active. She also enjoys spending quality time with her family and friends.

I had horrible tooth ache after cleaning by General dentist, and had to go to endodontics for root canal. But my appointment is available two weeks later. I couldn't wait with my pain even one day. So I open the computer, started search available Dr. by online.
I was so lucky I could find Dr. Tran, She is excellent treat my pain. I have to back to her for check my root canal teeth, I have no complain about that. She text to me next day after root canal.
I really like her! You will know if you meet her and treat by her.
I appreciate her accept me immediately and release me from pain.

Dr. Tran was very knowledgeable regarding my reason for consult. She didn’t even charge me a consult fee just the fee for the x-rays. She recommended another procedure which I will do, unfortunately not with her, but an oral surgeon. She even offered to call my dentist to explain her findings. She was very honest and compassionate and I would highly recommend. Not only was Dr. Tran wonderful but so was her entire staff. I was very nervous going in and the two ladies at reception were very kind and calming. One of the gentlemen in the office even explained everything regarding my insurance so there were no surprises for my visit. Definitely recommend if you are looking for an honest, friendly and clean practice.

I saw Dr. Tran for a root canal today and she certainly lived up to all the great reviews I’ve read. She’s personable, compassionate, and reassuring – and has superb and up-to-date clinical/technical skills. She explained everything she was doing and made sure the procedure was comfortable and painless for me. Afterwards, she provided clear directions for follow-up care. Great support staff too. Dr. Tran was excellent! I had problems with one of my molars for years (put off getting this done for 5 years!) and finally an old crown fell off and I had to face getting a root canal. Obviously not a procedure people are excited about Dr. Tran and her staff were not only extremely competent but patient and gentle. It was very easy to get an appointment via Zocdoc and in-person. During the procedure, she asked what kind of music I wanted to listen to and ensured I was numb enough. The whole procedure (which I've had done before) took just over an hour and was for the most part painless other than the shots for numbing! My first root canal by a different doctor was much more painful and uncomfortable. Dr. Tran followed up via phone and text in the coming days to make sure I was doing okay. I already have recommended her to another friend, she's great!

Dr. Lisa Tran is one of the most friendliest and professional Endodontists I've met (for better or worse) Coming in with an intense amount of pain, stemmed from what I later learned was an infection under a crown, Dr. Tran was able to explain the procedure required and did so in a manner that made me feel very calm and comfortable. She was very transparent with her steps, and even made sure I felt comfortable with what my insurance planned to partially cover. She had my best interest at heart and even reached out via text to check in and see how I was managing my pain given that I had to wait for the infection to go away. I would highly recommend Dr. Tran to anyone. She is very personable and genuinely cares for her patients!

I've had a terrible experience with an endodondist in the past and my tooth had been infected from not doing their job well and only got worse with time.
Dr. Tran was thorough and got to the root, no pun intended, of the problem. I had a huge infection that took multiple appointments to treat and she took such good care of it and also sent me to a good dentist, which I've never had before, for the cap to be done.
I feel like I had a total 360 review of my tooth and it was taken care of. She treated my tooth uniquely and saw it for its individual issue and not just another root canal on patient XXX.

I found Dr. Tran through Zocdoc.com as she had amazing reviews and they were 100% accurate. I woke up one morning in excruciating pain and made an appointment through zocdoc the same day. Went into the office and found out that my appointment wasn't confirmed as of yet, but Dr. Tran came out and asked me what was happening with my tooth and took me in once she was free.
From the beginning, she kept me in the loop of what was going on, made me feel comfortable, took away my anxiety, and most of all, took away my pain. She is very patient, kind, and efficient. Her assistant (forgive me for forgetting her name) couldn't have been nicer as well. Dr. Tran gave me her phone number and checked in with me to ensure that I was feeling okay. I would highly recommend Dr. Tran to any of my friends or family. This has been the best experience I've ever had with a doctor. If you want comfort, communication, and quality, go see Dr. Tran!!

I am blown away at how AMAZING Dr. Tran is! I only wish she also did general dentistry I want her to fix everything! I am a stunt performer and was doing a huge fight scene on a tv show on a Wednesday. I was in excruciating pain from a tooth that my general dentist had said was just getting used to a new filling....for 4 months. He sent me away 3 times telling me to take more Advil. I finally couldn't take it and made an appt with Dr. Tran in between fights. She took me the very next day. I went into her office on Thursday and said I was so upset because I've thrown myself through windows and been hit by cars but this pain was unbearable! I also had a major concern that I was supposed to fly to Orlando the very next day on Friday for a long planned trip to Disney! She immediately did a series of tests and explained what she was doing step by step so I understood which was fantastic. She then said well I have good news, you need a root canal! I said no! How is that good I can't go to Disney! She said NO it's good because I can fix it and you CAN go to Disney! I said ok yes please! The next thing I know I was listening to my movie on my phone not feeling a thing!! Just a bit of novocaine and she went to work! I'm not kidding when I say I would MUCH rather have Dr. Tran give me a root canal than most regular dental work I've had at other dentists! It was quick and painless and she was so professional and made ABSOLUTELY sure I was always, always, always comfortable if I needed to move or adjust or anything! I would like to also comment on something that you just never find when going to any type of doctor. Somehow Dr. Tran has a way of making you feel like you've known her for years right away! She has you come into her room as if it were her home and she speaks with you as if you are going to be doing the procedure together. I know that sounds weird but I've always had anxiety with dentists and now I realize it's because they talk down to me or not at all and I feel so small and vulnerable. But Dr. Tran made sure we were working as a Team with her assistant to get it done! I felt like a part of it which completely eased my mind and I was like yeh! Let's fix this bad tooth! I just can't say enough about her I'm really blown away that I actually laughed and enjoyed having a root canal lol! I took a selfie during the procedure and was on the plane the next morning after only 2 Advil! I never had to take anything other than the Advil for a couple of days. I had to post the pics if you can see them. But here's my selfie and then me on space mountain only a day and a half later! Hope you can see them! I needed an emergency root canal. Dr. Tran accepted me right away. Dr. Trans was very professional, kind, and attentive to detail. She fully assessed my mouth as she asked questions about where the pain was located in my mouth. She gave me a quick and successful root canal. She made sure my the area around my problem tooth was totally numb before doing the root canal to ensure I had a pain-free visit. Dr. Tran is extremely skilled and compassionate. She did a retreatment of a root canal that was infected. Explained the diagnosis and procedure; then afterward has followed up with me several times to ask about pain. I was worried about fracturing the crown, but she was so skilled that it was kept intact, saving me several hundred dollars. Procedure was smooth and painless, with normal amount of soreness after. Could not ask for a better endodontist.
