About Dr. Luke Charms
Dr. Charms* after relocating to NYC worked as a digital arts professor, freelance art director, and ultimately an advertising creative director. Unsatisfied by the mercenary character of his work in advertising, Dr. Charms was fortunate enough to change careers: He successfully attended NYU College of Dentistry and delivered the commencement address for his graduating class. Dr. Charms was chief resident in NYU’s AEGD program with Lutheran Medical Center, where he specialized in treatment planning for complex cases. Today, Dr. Charms is focused on delivering the gentlest possible care to nervous patients who require extra compassionate treatment. Dr. Charms speaks English, along with some Spanish and Mandarin Chinese. *His surname used to be, Harms. Unfortunate. When he finally found a partner whose last name started with a C, they portmanteau’d and became the Charms family.

My experience with dark charms was exceptional. He has a great personality. Seems very knowledgeable and it’s very good explaining everything to you making your decision on what to do easy. His bedside manner is absolutely phenomenal. I am not one for liking dentist, but I go back to this man, and I am going back to this man in a heartbeat. I have already recommended him to my friends and will continue to do so the office staff were absolutely great full of smiles great energy and great people. Thank you for a wonderful experience.

They were listed as in-network, but they are out. One assistant was an aggressive talker and offered tons of totally unsolicited life advice about completely non-dental things. I couldn’t get them to stop talking no matter how many polite hints I dropped. I felt trapped in someone’s endless monologue. The receptionist was very nice.

Dr. Charms was incredible. It was only upon seeing him that I had realized I have only been seen by Dentists in the past that did not know what they were doing. Dr. charms explained so much to me that I was unaware of. He made me actually enjoy my experience and want to return frequently. He removed plaque that previous dentists were unable to remove. He was swift and quick as well!

The doctor was kind and very understanding of anxiety around visiting the dentist. He was patient and gentle and told me about everything he was going to do before he did it. He was very communicative, and made me feel like I was in charge about when he would start, stop, how much pressure, etc. He was extremely knowledgeable and answered my questions and explained everything. He walked me through many options moving forward. Overall it was the best dentist experience I had.

This is my first visit with Dr charms and he is awesome! He took the time to listen to me, go over my concerns, educate me, give me his recommendations and other options, and respect my decision in the process.
I have previously felt pressured, coerced and left in the dark by other dentists and physicians, so I really appreciate a dentist like Dr Charms.
I highly recommend him and look forward to having him as my dentist for a very, very long time
