“honestly this was the best dentist experience of my life. the staff was soooo friendly that i feel like we became real friends. doctor T was very kind and very knowledgeable, and explained lots of information to me very carefully and clearly. i felt like she was really looking out for me and cared for me. it helps that i now have very good insurance and so didn’t have to pay a lot for what i needed. but either way? highly recommend visiting dr t and this office!”

“Dr. T and the assistant were wonderful. Great bedside manor, not rushed, not pushy, professional. Hygienist was fine but not super personable.
The front desk staff were very friendly, but did not seem aware of which insurance the doctor was currently taking and I had to wait quite a while has all that got sorted out. I would call ahead of time to double check insurance coverage. The office manager was very helpful and thorough.”

About Dr. Maiko Tomizawa
Dr. Maiko Tomizawa graduated from Columbia University School of Dental and Oral Surgery with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 2003. She completed her general practice residency at Long Island College Hospital in 2004.
Dr. Tomizawa practices in all aspects of general dentistry including Periodontics, Cosmetics, Oral Surgery, Endodontics and Pediatrics. She is also Invisalign certified.
Tomizawa practices dentistry in a painless and friendly environment, where patient care and comfort are of utmost importance to her.
Dr. Tomizawa sat on the board of Admissions at Columbia Dental School for many years and is a member of the American Dental Association and the Japan Medical Society. The office sent my forms over to get the insurance information the day prior, it seems they had not been aware of my appoint though I booked it 2 weeks prior.
Later that same day they called and left voicemails that my appointment time was not available.
I called in the morning around 9 to reschedule for the same day, when I arrived for my now 4pm appointment they then let me know they were out of network insurance, but that my benefits should cover some of the cost.
I cancelled the appointment, this was a waste of time.

Amazing! Best dentist I've ever come across. Dr. Tomizawa was very clear, comprehensive, and helpful. She also did my cleaning and was thorough AND gentle—this was the first time I did not bleed after a dental cleaning, which says a lot! The staff was very friendly and had great bedside manners. I was running late but everyone I spoke with was very understanding and laid back, which created a nice and relaxing atmosphere. The dentist who took my X-rays was very welcoming, and Dr. Tomizawa was very professional and friendly. She answered all my questions and was incredibly considerate and personable.

Every person I spoke with at the office, including Dr. Tomizawa, was so cheerful and professional. I honestly have never had a better experience at any doctor's office. Dr. Tomizawa was thorough and quick while still taking the time to get to know me as a patient. She laid out several preventative care options but was not pushy at all with treatments - which is something that I have felt at other practices. The icing on the cake was that the staff took the time to sit down with me to discuss how billing worked on all treatment options so I could decide if it was right for me. This is something everyone should be doing! Dealing with insurance and medical billing if usually such a pain but this approach was clear and very honest. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!

I can see exactly why Dr. Tomizawa has such great reviews, she is very warm, welcoming and personable. She really takes her time with you, not like other dentists who come in for a quick minute at the end of your appointment. She explained everything thoroughly and helps you come up with a good game plan for the future.
