Dr Manu Sharma examined me and told me braces will be a good fit for my son as they need more complex movement and Invisalign will take longer. She gave me a complete list of all instructions after the braces appointment and even called later to check on my son how he was doing. She is amazing with kids and my son likes her.”

Dr. Sharma was very professional and thorough in addressing all my concerns during the consult. She did my scans and oral examination. There was absolutely no pressure or pushy sales tactics, which made me feel at ease. I had to look no further at this point. The front office verified by insurance and explained the benefits clearly. They even set me up on an in-house interest free payment plan. So far I am very happy with my experience with this office, especially Dr. Sharma who is a gem of a lady.”

About Dr. Manu Sharma
Welcome to BirchTree Orthodontics. I am Dr. Manu Sharma, a board certified orthodontist, Diplomate of the American Board of Orthodontics, and the only board certified orthodontist in Newark, CA.
I earned my Doctor of Dental Medicine from Boston University Henry M. Goldman School of Dental Medicine, graduating with honors. I then completed my orthodontic residency at the Georgia School of Orthodontics in Atlanta, graduating at the top of my class in both programs. With over 13 years of clinical experience across orthodontics, general dentistry, and oral surgery, I bring a broad foundation to every case I treat. I also achieved a top national score on the ABO board exam, a voluntary credential that fewer than one in three orthodontists nationwide hold.
This distinction matters. Orthodontists complete two to three additional years of full time residency training beyond dental school, focused entirely on the movement of teeth and the development of the jaws. Board certification goes further by requiring independent peer review of completed cases. When you choose a board certified orthodontist over a general dentist offering aligners as one of many services, you are choosing a provider whose career is dedicated to getting your bite and smile right.
I treat patients of all ages with braces, clear braces, Invisalign, palatal expanders, surgical orthodontics, and early interceptive care for children. The AAO recommends every child be evaluated by age 7. I also offer Black Triangle Treatment, a restorative finishing procedure that closes small gaps near the gumline after orthodontic treatment, because I believe in delivering a complete result. Complimentary consultations with digital imaging are available.
Our practice has served Newark and the Tri-City community for over 35 years. I speak English, Hindi, and Spanish, and welcome patients from Fremont, Union City, Hayward, Milpitas, and across the East Bay.

I live in Fremont and this is very close to where I live. I come here with recommendations from my neighbor. Google search for doctor get me to book through ZocDoc. It was very convenient to get online booking option. The office receptionist was super helpful in getting all paperwork organized. I start treatment next Monday and already super excited. Orthodontist Sharma is very gentle and refuse all the extra treatment that other dentist keep pushing for. She suggests only the treatment I truly need. Her office accepts my insurance that saves me almost 30% cost. Really good practice and very competitive pricing too.
