About Dr. Mark A. Porter

**Dr. Porter does participate with the following insurances but is not in-network with Aetna, MetLife, UHC, and BlueCross BlueShield.** Dr. Porter has had the opportunity to blend science and art together to change people's lives for the better. He is blessed to treat and interact with so many different people and help them achieve their dental health goals. Dr. Porter strives to make his patients as comfortable as possible; dentistry doesn't have to be scary or painful! Dr. Porter earned his Doctorate of Dental Surgery from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. To stay abreast of new technology and current techniques, continuing education is a must. It’s important to Dr. Porter to know that he is providing his patients with the best treatment possible. He participates in the Seattle Study Club, Kois Continuum, Robbins/Rouse Aesthetic Institute, and Cerec Advanced Courses, just to name a few. A native of San Antonio, Dr. Porter has lived there for 27 years. His wife’s name is Lauri, and they have two children, Erin and Shane, two family dogs, and his Great Dane named Takota. In his leisure time, Dr. Porter enjoys running, swimming, cycling, skiing, hiking, and kayaking. He also participates in triathlons and has even done helicopter skiing in Alaska! The beauty and quietness there are amazing. Dr. Porter’s community is very important to him, and he regularly participates in the San Antonio District Dental Society’s Mission of Mercy.
