About Dr. Mark Zafir
Mark Zafir, DDS, specializes in comprehensive, cosmetic, and implant dentistry for patients of all ages at Sapphire Dental Care in Oceanside, New York.
Dr. Zafir earned his bachelor’s degree at Touro College in the Chelsea neighborhood of New York City. He then received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from New York University College of Dentistry in the Lower Manhattan neighborhood of New York City. After graduating, Dr. Zafir continued his training in general dentistry at Coney Island Hospital in Brooklyn, New York.
With the use of digital and laser technology, Dr. Zafir can provide more conservative and effective options for his patient’s dental health. He has extensive training in endodontics and fixed and implant dentistry.
Dr. Zafir is Invisalign certified and knowledgeable in helping patients achieve the perfect smile. His dedication to every patient on a personal level brings a special level of warmth and confidence to every dental experience.
Dr. Zafir Grew up in Montreal, Canada, and currently resides on Long Island with his family.

This was my very first visit to Sapphire, everyone was so pleasant and helpful, I immediately felt at ease in the office. It’s been quite a while since my last dental appointment — though I was a bit anxious at first, the hygienists and dentist made me feel extremely comfortable each step of the way. I left feeling very pleased with the results of my cleaning and so happy that I found this office :)

I have never had a bad experience at Sapphire Dental.
The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They actually remember me across my visits and check in on me when I come back for new services administered by other staff.
The office is a well run machine, I've never waited more than 3 minutes in the waiting area and never waited more than 5 minutes in the chair between intake and the doctor.
They were able to resolve my long-time gum pain problem on my first visit, which wasn't even the reason I made my appointment.

What an excellent experience! The office is a lovely, relaxing space, and visibly clean. The receptionist was clear and kind (great phone manners!) and worked very well around my schedule. The dental hygienists/assistants were lovely, they really helped calm me down during a nerve wracking appointment. Dr. Zafir was thorough, professional, and knowledgeable. He answered my every question with patience (even the obvious ones!) and, in a time when a doctor might spend five minutes tops in the room with you, he took as much time as I needed. I feel like I’m in good hands moving forward, thank you Sapphire team!
