About Dr. Martial LaVant
“Sorry, Doc, nothing against you, but I just don’t like the dentist,” is what a lot of patients flat-out say when meeting Dr. LaVant for the first time. Dr. LaVant had that exact attitude growing up as a kid. When trying to decide which healthcare sector to make a career out of while on a full-ride football scholarship at North Dakota State, that was the exact same reason he decided to become a dentist.
Dr. LaVant knows that many people avoid dentist because of previous bad experiences. This causes them to neglect their overall health care, which starts in their mouth. Dr. LaVant wants to help change how people see the dentist and make it a great experience so this doesn’t happen. That’s why he provides a place where patients don’t feel judged for the condition they are in, where they are treated like family and are given the best care possible by a top dentist. Dr. LaVant and Italian Smiles Family and Cosmetic Dentistry deliver that each day.
Dr. Isaac LaVant went on to complete dental school at Meharry Medical College in Nashville, TN.
Upon graduation, he completed an intense one-year general practice residency at Bronx-Lebanon Hospital (now the BronxCare Health System). This residency is specifically dedicated to providing advanced dental training in the areas of general dentistry, full-mouth rehabilitation, dental implants, emergency family dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, dentures, and restorative/preventive dentistry.
To stay up-to-date on dental treatments, Dr. LaVant takes far above the mandatory continued education required by the Arizona State Board of Dental Examiners. In recognition of his dedication to his craft, Dr. LaVant received the distinguished award of Top Dentist 2020.

I scheduled my appointment for the day they were not open. I was asked to cancel my appointment. I understand that they have no control over that but it was disappointing to ask for a day off to attend an appointment that ends up not being available

The staff did not judge me at all and they were very understanding and spoke to me like a person, not a patient. They made me feel comfortable and frequently asked if I was ok, pain wise, during the procedure. Friendly, personable, and professional!

I have never been to a better dentist!! Dr. LaVant takes such great care of his patients & makes sure they are well taken care of. Dental assistant Monica makes you feel like you are part of the family & treats you with care. Marssa at the front desk makes you feel at ease from the moment you walk in. The whole office is so caring & attentive. I will never go anywhere else for my dental needs.

If you have past dental trauma, this place will help put you at ease. Everyone is friendly, from the hygienist to the front office. Dr. LaVant is honest realistic & actively listens to your concerns to execute the best care. I always feel really great about myself when I leave. Schedule that appointment yall.
