About Dr. Mayur Patel
Dr. Mayur Patel graduated from the Howard University College of Dentistry in 2019. Before pursuing his dental degree, he completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Maryland-College Park, majoring in Cell Molecular Biology and Genetics. He furthered his education with a Master’s in Genetics from the University of Florida. Dr. Patel is committed to continuous education, fulfilling the biannual requirement of 20-30 CE credits and staying current with the latest trends and topics in dentistry. He has advanced training in implantology and is an active member of the American Dental Association® and the Virginia Dental Association. His dedication to his field has been recognized with awards such as the BBB in 2018 and being named America’s Top Dentist.
With over 15 years of experience, Dr. Patel has been serving his community with a focus on gaining the confidence and trust of his patients. His goal is to provide the highest quality care and customer service, building lifelong relationships.
Married with two daughters, he balances his professional life with hobbies like playing basketball, football and singing.

I felt Dr. Patel was a bit dismissive with me and talked to me more like a lecturing parent to a child than a dentist to a patient. I have always had teeth problems, even though I brush three times a day, floss, use mouth wash, and avoid sugary drinks. Dr. Patel still made me feel bad about a cavity I have been unable to afford to treat as of late.

Dr. Patel is a down to earth guy that I enjoyed getting to know! He was very thorough in cleaning my teeth and cracked jokes/made pleasant conversation the whole time.

In my first visit Dr. Patel was friendly and approachable. He did the whole cleaning efficiently but with a soft touch, so I had no pain at all. And no shaming me to floss more!

The technician was very nice, the cleaning was efficient and Dr Patel was also very nice and relatively gentle while efficient. I hadn't had a cleaning in years so this was actually a very anxiety-provoking event for me but it ended up being really kind of enjoyable and nice.

He was very professional and I felt honest with my treatment plan. I had a cracked tooth, a partical part of the filling had fallen out. I had gone to two other dentists who told me I needed a cap and a filling would not work. The pricing they quoted me was very high and I did some research and came across Dr Patel and read his ratings and made an appointment for yet another opinion. Right away he told me he believed we could go the conservative route and fill the tooth. The difference in price was amazing between a filling and a CAP. I believe the other dentists were out to make as much money as possible; while Dr Patel was out to do what was right for the patient.

He has excellent excellent beside manners. I was so scarred from my previous dentist, and wasnt sure about visiting a new dentist. He made me feel very comfortable, and listened to my concerns and was very prompt and timely. He was EXTREMELY gentle and gave me the best cleaning I had in my life and I go usually ever 6 months. Only thing I didnt like it the leaky water down my neck, but that can be fixed. He gets 5 stars..Awesome Dentist!!!
