Melissa Choi, DMD, graduated with honors from Boston University School of Dental Medicine, earning her Doctor of Dental Medicine degree. Following graduation, she completed a General Practice Residency at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Dr. Choi’s top priority remains providing the highest quality of dental care, treating every patient with her gentle touch in a thorough and efficient manner. This is a decent and clean place to get regular cleanings. I felt everyone was professional and kind, but not overly friendly. The office contacted me before my appointment to come in 30 minutes earlier, which I did. I ended up waiting 15 minutes to be brought back to the chair, and then waiting another 30+ minutes between the dental assistant and the dentist. At no point did anyone tell me there would be a wait or give a time estimate, I was just sitting there both times. I also wish more information had been provided to me about my treatment plan following the appointment.

Not only was the care thorough and professional, but she also went the extra mile by providing a referral to a specialist who could continue my treatment. I can't complain about the service - its always been fine, professional and courteous. They are in network for my insurance but I had to pay upfront and have to get reimbursed, which is a pain. I also usually don't get the specific dentist I made the appointment with (which is fine; I don't really care).

My appointment with Dr. Choi was for a dental emergency. Setting up the appointment through ZocDoc was quick and easy. Because their office is out of my insurance network they called me prior my visit to make sure I was aware of any fees I would have to pay. Dr. Choi was clear and concise with her examination and made sure I was aware of my options in my particular situation.
My overall experience was excellent. Hopefully I never encounter another dental emergency, but if I do, I would definitely give Dr. Choi a call.

The hygienist got right to work and within a few minutes after Dr. Choi came in. She was very personable, respectful, and easy to work with.
I was informed about everything every step of the way and she set good expectations about what to do and what to expect next.

This office wanted to charge me 4 times the going market rate for two Anterior Resin Composites. Basically I needed 2 simple bonds for my broken teeth. When I brought this up to the dentist she told me to speak to the receptionist. When I brought this up to the receptionist she told me “I don’t set the prices I just work here.” Thank god I thought to google it.

Great dental visit. The doctor did the cleaning herself - very pleasant staff and assistants. They got me seated right away and the doctor took her time to go over everything with me including explaining my treatment by showing me X-rays on the iPad. Very kind, patient doctor.

I typically hate going to the Dentist, but this was definitely the best experience I've ever had! Melissa listened to any concerns I had and made a few different suggestions regarding how I can handle them going forward. Was in and out with almost no wait time and everyone was extremely kind.
