About Dr. Michael Crosby

Dr. Michael Crosby was born – the second of eight children – in Salt Lake City, Utah. Mike got to know the family orthodontist well, as seemingly each of his siblings – including himself – went through the office for orthodontics. After a rich and varied undergraduate experience that included academic work at the University of Utah, a five-month study abroad in Israel at the BYU Jerusalem Center, and a two year church mission serving the people of Brazil, Mike began his graduate studies at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA). He excelled both academically and clinically during Dental School and earned several awards and recognitions. One important recognition involved Mike’s selection as mentor and guide to other dental students in their educational progress. Dr. Crosby graduated dental school cum laude in 2005 and entered the University of Nebraska Medical Center for his orthodontic residency. He is one of the few students to complete his orthodontic training in conjunction with a Master of Science Degree. His thesis involving the use of computer models to better understand the physics and pathology of TMJ was recognized with the Charles Schultz Resident Scholar award, and Dr. Crosby has coauthored many papers based on the findings of this research. Dr. Crosby has been married to his wife, Kristine, since 2001. They are the parents of four children: Kira, Noah, Brady, and Lucy. In 2010, Noah was diagnosed with Type I diabetes on his fourth birthday. Dr. Crosby and his wife are heavily involved in diabetes research and causes that support improving quality of life and finding a cure for those who suffer from this disease. They support the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF). Outside of work, Mike enjoys time with his family and playing sports. He is the undisputed ping-pong champion of his family, extended family, former classmates, and current coworkers.
