“My first appointment at Bar and Smith Dental was the best experience I've ever had visiting a dentist! Wait time was minimal. The space and equipment was modern. Everyone in the office including the receptionist, hygienist and dentist were lovely. They made me aware of future treatment options without trying to "sell" them. Checked my insurance before proceeding with anything. And the dentist took time to ask additional questions and get to know me. Cannot recommend highly enough!”

About Dr. Michael Murphy
Dr. Michael Murphy is originally from Denver, Colorado. Following graduation, he was accepted at the University of Colorado School of Dental Medicine in Denver, earning a Doctorate of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree in 2017. He then enrolled in a general practice residency program at the BronxCare Hospital Center in the south Bronx, bringing him to the East Coast. He completed advanced training in general dental procedures including placement of fixed prostheses (crowns, bridges, veneers), implant dentistry, cosmetic dentistry, root canal treatments, emergency procedures, and periodontics.
Dr. Murphy is a member of the American Dental Association and is a certified Invisalign provider. He believes in thinking long-term, understanding that the dental treatment plan we come up with today will affect patients’ oral health for the next 20,40, or 60+ years. Dr. Murphy enjoys the versatility that the field of dentistry provides as well as the idea of creating a greater quality of life for our patients.
Outside of dentistry, Dr. Murphy enjoys reading, cooking, traveling, hiking, skiing, spending time in the sunshine with friends and family, and escaping to Spain or Mexico whenever possible. Por si acaso, se habla español.

My first appointment at Bar and Smith Dental was the best experience I've ever had visiting a dentist! Wait time was minimal. The space and equipment was modern. Dr. Murphy was extremely thorough and talked through every bit of my routine cleaning and exam. Did a full mouth exam and checked lymph nodes which I have rarely had done by a dentist. Very kind and welcoming and takes his time to complete a full exam.

Dr. Murray had fantastic chair-side manner and a lovely dental technician that he worked with. I am a little nervous about dentists, and hadn't been in a couple years. They both put my (irrational) fears to bed, and made me feel very calm and comfortable. There was no wait and the team was very thorough. Highly recommend.
