About Dr. Mina Antoun
Born and raised in Cairo, Egypt, Dr. Antoun has always been fascinated by both art and science. Dentistry provided the perfect career to combine these interests. He earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery from Ain Shams University in Cairo and practiced dentistry there for three years before moving to America with his wife, Mary.
While living in New York, Dr. Antoun received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from New York University, where he also gained valuable experience as a teaching assistant. He graduated at the top of his class academically and clinically and became a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honor Dental Society. He was enrolled in an Honors Clinical Concentration Program in Aesthetic Dentistry and received the Arthur Charles Hull and Samuel & Hannah Holzman Award for demonstrating the greatest proficiency in endodontics in his class. Dr. Antoun is a member of the American Dental Association (ADA), Texas Dental Association (TDA), and Greater Houston Dental Society (GHDS).
After graduating from NYU, Dr. Antoun and his wife moved to Texas, where they quickly established roots and became involved in their community. He was promoted from associate dentist to lead dental director, overseeing three other offices. In his spare time, he enjoys playing soccer and spending quality time with Mary and their three young children. Dr. Antoun is proud to offer superior, individualized dental care in Houston Heights.

Clean and modern office with latest imaging equipment. Makes taking x-rays a breeze. Dr Antoun takes the time to review images, walk you through his evaluation and treatment plan. Puts patients at ease. I had a deep cleaning which was painless and quick. Will come back again.

I moved to Houston over a year ago and this was my second visit at Sapphire Smiles. As a fellow trained dental professional, I am always wary whom I trust with my dental care. Excellent experience - friendly staff, no wait time, prefilled health forms online so there was no paperwork. The consultation and cleaning was quick and easy, and the providers communicated very clearly. Overall I had a great experience and will be returning in the future!

Not like any other dentistry practice I’ve been to. I didn’t have to wait a ridiculous time after I checked in to my appointment. Scheduling was extremely simple and the staff was really communicative with instructions and policies. The dentist assistant, Vicky, was super knowledgeable and helpful throughout the entire process. The fluidity of this operation definitely makes a person, like myself (a guy afraid of going to the dentist), want to go to the dentist again. The dentist himself was super friendly and personable. He got to know me and consulted me through suggestions without the feeling of being sold something. I would recommend coming here if you’re a Heights local seeking a new dentist.

First of all I so much love the way I was welcome to the office and the help the receptionist provide since it was my first time there. Second l met “Liz” the assistant she was so patiente beautiful and great in everything she was providing for helping. And I met the doctor so friendly, nice with a lovely smile. He took time to explain by showing everything to me after check up so I can understand better. I would choose them 100 times if I have to. Thank you so much for your kindness “Saphari’s Team “

Office has plenty of parking and is clean. Staff are friendly, and wait times were minimal. The only slight issue was that I had booked a different dentist for my appointment, and this was not addressed until I brought it up after my appointment. Luckily, I thought the dentist that saw me was great and had similar credentials, but I would have appreciated a heads up. Other than that mix-up, the appointment went pretty smoothly.

I was blown away by their customer service and genuine kindness. The dentist of the whole office was amazing and treated me well (his wife did too, very sweet people!). The young lady who cleaned my teeth and did my XRays was wonderful as well! I can’t believe she was so professional and knowledgeable at just 21. I forgot her name, but she deserves to be acknowledged because of how comfortable she made me feel and how she answered my questions so that everything made sense.
