About Dr. Monica Lobo
Dr. Monica Lobo, a New York native, is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist. She received her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in Baltimore, graduating Magna Cum Laude. Dr. Lobo then completed her two-year pediatric specialty training at Yale New Haven Hospital where she served as Chief Resident.
Dr. Lobo believes that early intervention and education lead to a lifetime of good oral health. She provides gentle, preventive, minimally invasive dentistry for patients ranging from infants to teenagers. She is also trained in treating neurodivergent children and those with special needs.
Dr. Lobo strives to create a comforting and friendly environment by understanding the unique needs of every child and their family. Her love of language helps her connect with and embrace families from a variety of backgrounds; she is fluent in English and Spanish and converses with basic phrases in Danish, German, ASL, and Pashto.
Dr. Lobo is committed to continuing education and evidence-based care, using the latest advancements in materials and technology. She is a member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry and was inducted into the prestigious Omicron Kappa Upsilon society.
In her free time, Dr. Lobo loves to explore Central Park with her dog Finley. She also enjoys traveling, running, singing, learning languages, and playing racquet sports.
Some fun facts about Dr. Lobo are that she sang in college and opened for Jay Leno. She has also performed for a crowd of over 20,000 people!

I recommend Lumia Dental for both adult and pediatric. It's a very professionally run and patient-centric practice. We've personally seen Dr. Schuback, Dr. Bagga, and Dr. Lobo and had a great experience every time. Dr. Lobo and her team were great at explaining good dental hygiene habits to my kids and made the visit a fun experience.

I am so happy. My daughter is autistic and was treated so beautifully. I was so impressed. I highly recommend Dr. Lobo. She is so kind and has so much compassion. Amazing! Dr. Lobo is an excellent pediatric provider who's patient, very friendly, and gentle . Not to mention she spokes English, Spanish and Danish! My daughter had a blast at her first dental visit and pediatric room is so cute and cozy. Lumia is an amazing practice and I would highly recommend to adults and children.

My experience at Lumia Dental and with Doctor Lobo was wonderful. It was the first time my 2 and 5 year old girls had a dentist visit. Dr. Lobo and the office staff were very friendly with the girls and the office itself is very modern. There was even a tv in the room for the kids to watch, while they were getting their teeth cleaned. Dr. Lobo gave me preventative details for my daughters teeth and also talked me through what the X-rays showed and the condition of their teeth. I will definitely be coming here for my kids appointment. It was an overal pleasant experience.

Dr. Monica Lobo is a fantastic dentist and took great care of both my daughters who are 6 and 8 years old. She was very patient with them and treated them with gentle care and in a very friendly manner. Dr. Lobo is continuing to work with my younger daughter to address some longer term issues and my daughter is very happy to be in her care.

Dr. Monica Lobo was fantastic with my daughters. She was very caring and patient with them. She asked questions and took time to get to know them. She was very detailed in her feedback and took time to answer all our questions.

Dr. Lobo was excellent! She was friendly, professional and thorough. My teeth were super clean after my cleaning and we discussed all my dental concerns. (I was going to another Manhattan dental practice and my teeth were much whiter and felt cleaner after Dr. Lobo’s cleaning)
I also appreciated the advice she gave re: a bite issue and dental hygiene.

My little brother came to Dr.Lobo for a visit and said it was the best experience he has ever had at the dentist, which was surprising since he usually hates his dental visits. Thank you Dr.Lobo for giving my brother the best experience! Dr. Lobo is hands down the best pediatric dentist in NYC. 10/10 recommend.
