About Dr. Myoungsoo Choi

I am Dr. Tim Myoungsoo Choi, and it is certainly my pleasure to serve Katy, Cypress, and the Greater Houston area. I was born in Seoul, South Korea, and immigrated to the United States 18 years ago with a passion and solidified dreams to become an orthodontist. Before becoming an orthodontist, I was a general dentist in Gangnam for 11 years. As a result, when treating patients, I approach cases from both a dentist and an orthodontist perspective to make sure my patients receive the best, safest treatment. However, God opened new doors and provided me with an amazing opportunity to expand my career which led me to seek specialty in orthodontics. Contrary to regular orthodontists who spend two years studying orthodontics in a dental school setting, I attended a three-year hospital-based residency program at one of the nation’s top hospitals, Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Therefore, I am knowledgeable and experienced in complex and rare orthodontic problems. I am a firm believer in lifelong learning and am excited to bring my patients the newest technology and techniques. To make sure I can provide my patients with the best possible care, I regularly attend meetings and training with the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO) and take various continuing education courses to ensure that I am at the forefront of innovative technology. I am an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists, Texas Association of Orthodontists
