During my dental appointment, the exam chair was positioned in an inverted position, with my head lower than my feet. As I enter my second trimester, this positioning caused significant discomfort, including shortness of breath. When the tech sprayed water into my mouth to rinse, I felt like I was going to drown.
Lying in an inverted position during pregnancy can increase pressure on the diaphragm, making it harder to breathe. It can also affect blood flow and create a sensation of fluid pooling in the throat, which may explain why the rinse felt overwhelming. For future appointments, I’d prefer to remain in a semi-reclined or upright position to ensure comfort and safety.

When I arrived on-time for my appointment with the dentist, only one staff person was present and said "I'm waiting for my receptionist to arrive." 20 minutes after my appointment time, I had barely been acknowledged. I finally asked if the dentist was in the office. She said, "NO."
It was pretty clear that I was going to be shuffled to a technician instead of actually seeing a dentist; then they could charge my insurance. So I left. There was no dentist present to see me.
