About Dr. Navid Rahmani

Dr. Navid Rahmani received his doctoral degree from the Stony Brook School of Dental Medicine. Following graduation, Dr. Rahmani remained at Stony Brook for another three years and received certification in the specialty area of Periodontology. He has extensive training in all phases of modern periodontal therapy including periodontal plastic surgery, bone grafting, implantology and, of course, what many people refer to as “gum disease”. Based on his accomplishments, Dr. Rahmani was awarded the John Oppie McCall Award given annually by Stony Brook to someone demonstrating exemplary dedication and proficiency in the art and science of Periodontology.
Dr. Rahmani is a tireless advocate for good periodontal health and with good reason since its recent links with heart disease and its complications. He is dedicating his professional career to having his patients maintain proper oral care while also allowing them to create the healthy and esthetic smile they desire. Today there are many options for patients that did not exist in the past and these very options can often lead to confusion for the patient. Dr. Rahmani’s philosophy is to sit down with each patient and explain those options using the most up to date diagnostic tools available and then provide the best treatment to suit that patient’s particular need. Saving the natural teeth is always his first choice but if that is just not possible he will always present the most modern alternatives available for his patient.

I booked my appointment due to acceptance of my health insurance but was treated as if I had no insurance at all never spoke of what my insurance would cover for treatment I was offered health insurance credit card information to cover the cost of what was prescribed offered a cat scan which would have been very expensive

The service that this office offers is unbelievably good. I personally did not have to wait to be seen by the doctor for more than five minutes. All the staff that I came in contact with were very courteous and had very good professional manner. The only downside for me, is that they do not take my insurance so I had to pay out of pocket, which is very pricey. Other than that, I would definitely return in the future, if things changes

Dr. Rahmani was fabulous and made me feel as comfortable as possible as a patient with dental anxiety. He was able to see me as a new patient on the same day to deal with a tooth that was bothering me, which was fantastic. He was very friendly, explained what needed to be done and was able to combine treatments to reduce my number of appointments and discomfort. His patient coordinator, Jen, was able to verify my insurance and put together a financial break down for me quickly and accurately so I could have the treatment I needed without worrying about how much the bill would be after.
The only downside is that after my extraction, post op instructions were given verbally and very quickly and weren't very complete. It would have helped to be given something in writing. Luckily, however, there is Google, and other than that, I was really very pleased with this visit and would definitely recommend Dr. Rahmani.

Dr. Rahmani and his staff were really wonderful. He gave me one of the most thorough cleanings I've ever had. I would highly recommend his practice to anyone looking for a great dentist, which is unfortunately a rarity in NYC.

Dr. Rahmani and his staff are absolutely wonderful and the office is prestine! Dr. Rahmani is an excellent doctor who made me feel comfortable from the moment I sat in the chair! He explained everything step by step and even worked within my budget! His staff is fantastic and so friendly. Jen always went out of her way to help with my insurance and was awesome with follow ups! Although I don’t like dentists, I highly recommend this one! Overall great experience!

The doctor was very helpful. He took me in right away as an emergency patient. Helped me financially since I did not have an insurance plan. After my procedure which went great, the doctor and his staff called me often to see how I was feeling. I would highly recommend Dr. Rahmani to any one who needs Periodontal work.

This was my first time seeing Dr. Rahmani after going to the same dentist for 28 years. I had an exceptional appointment- I was attended to immediately upon arrival and taken very good care of with Dr. Rahmani overseeing almost everything and performing the cleaning himself (something my former dentist never did). I would definitely recommend him and hope to return in 6 months.

Dr. Rahmani and his office were professional and friendly. He spends a lot of time explaining things, showing you what's going on and why something is happening. He specializes in gum disease and implants, not Genral dentistry, which means he can give you a cleaning but won't fill cavities. I would highly recommend him!!

He's a periodontist, which is a gum specialist, NOT A GENERAL DENTIST. He did a cleaning, took x-rays and did an exam. If you need work other than gum related stuff, he'll need to refer you.

This is the best dental experience I've ever had. The office staff are incredibly efficient and friendly, the offices are clean and welcoming and Dr. Rahmani is an excellent dentist. His assistant took time to explain what she was doing, all the x rays are digital and she was extremely friendly and put me at complete ease. Dr. Rahmani is works assertively and gently, and really cared about what he was doing. When I asked about a small lump in my gum he spend considerable time checking it out, then asked a senior colleague to take a look for a second opinion.
At last I've found a great dentist. I generally don't write on line reviews but I felt I must highly recommend everyone at this office.

Dr. Rahmani was not only thorough and professional - he was candid, honest and friendly. He made me laugh and constantly made sure i was comfortable. He gave me some great advice on future dentists and a whitening procedure i want -- clearly he is not in it for himself at all. I left feeling like my teeth were in better health than they were when i walked in.
The bottom line is after years of HATING dentists, Dr. Rahmani changed my mind :)

QUICK & PAINLESS! Very sweet Dr. & team. Didn't feel like a first visit. And they value your time - Dr. asked if I was on lunch & made sure it was a "SWIFT" (meaning quick, but still thorough and never seeming rushed!). Paperwork/appointment booking is electronic & streamlined for the same reason. Went in for a cleaning - great job, bit of gum-health guidance, and a reference for other things I'm thinking about doing. I highly recommend Dr. Rahmani!!! PS if you have sensitive gums or just simply dread pointy, sharp cleaning instruments, just know the entire visit is completely comfortable... PLEASANT even! Seriously.
