About Dr. Neda Shafai

Los Angeles native Dr. Neda Shafai's journey to dentistry is as unique as her approach to patient care. Dr. Shafai was born with a complicated oral structure and spent much of her youth anxious about dental appointments. However, a transformative encounter with a thoughtful dentist at age 15 changed her perspective. This pivotal experience showed Dr. Shafai the power of empathetic, patient-centered care. It's a philosophy she carries into her practice today, where patients feel heard, respected, and in control of their oral health journey. Dr. Shafai earned her dental degree from USC, followed by a two-year hospital residency program. Post-residency, she further honed her skills in a private practice setting, and by providing in-home dentistry for special needs adults. She has an extensive record of community service dentistry, and has taught at USC's Herman Ostrow School of Dentistry and Western University of Health Sciences. Outside of the office, Dr. Shafai is a devoted mother to two young children. She's also an avid reader with a particular passion for cookbooks, and loves exploring Los Angeles through its diverse culinary scene. Dr. Shafai looks forward to seeing you at your next visit!
