About Dr. Neker Bernuy
Dr. Neker Bernuy is a distinguished Board-Certified Orthodontist recognized for his commitment to clinical excellence, advanced education, and personalized patient care. With extensive academic and clinical training in both South America and the United States, Dr. Bernuy has earned a reputation for delivering exceptional orthodontic treatment through precision, innovation, and compassion.
Dr. Bernuy began his dental education at Universidad Nacional Federico Villarreal in Lima, Peru, where he earned his Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) and Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degrees, graduating at the top of his class in 2002.
Driven by a passion for advanced specialty training, Dr. Bernuy relocated to the United States and attended the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with Magna Cum Laude honors and a Distinction in Research. He was inducted into Omicron Kappa Upsilon (OKU), the National Dental Honor Society, and was the only member of his graduating class selected for induction into the prestigious Pierre Fauchard Academy.
He later completed his specialty training in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where he also earned a Master of Science degree. His training included advanced orthodontic diagnosis, biomechanics, craniofacial development, surgical orthodontics, and interdisciplinary treatment planning.
As a Board-Certified Orthodontist, Dr. Bernuy remains committed to lifelong learning and evidence-based treatment. He is affiliated with the American Board of Orthodontics, American Association of Orthodontists, Omicron Kappa Upsilon, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy.
Today, Dr. Bernuy proudly serves the Central Texas community through Bernuy Orthodontic Specialists, where he combines advanced orthodontic expertise with a patient-centered philosophy focused on creating healthy, confident smiles.

We are just starting our treatment so we are not able to leave a proper review yet, but the experience we have had so far is that our son has enjoyed his dental visits, which is not as easy. And Dr. Bernuy has been great explaining what our son needs.
