About Dr. Olivia Oriani
Dr. Olivia Oriani ("Dr. O" to her patients) grew up in Southeastern Pennsylvania but now calls the nation’s capital her home. A Nittany Lion at heart, she received her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology from Penn State University. Her interest in science and the hands-on aspect of dentistry led her to earn her Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Maryland School of Dentistry, where she graduated magna cum laude.
Upon graduation, she was also awarded the Frank C. Jerbi Award for excellence in prosthodontics. Dr. O has a passion for knowledge and aims to learn new techniques and keep her skills current throughout her career. She loves attending continuing education courses in the DC community and was recently selected as a 2023 Top Dentist by Washingtonian!
Dr. O strives to always deliver the best possible care to her patients. She chose to further her education and complete a residency at the Baltimore Veterans Association Hospital in Baltimore, Maryland, where she provided much-needed restorative, surgical, and esthetic procedures for veterans. She has also participated in multiple mission trips to treat those with limited access to proper healthcare. The most recent of these brought her to Sorsogon City in the Philippines. Her compassion propels her to provide top-notch care for all her patients.
Dr. O is an active member of the American Dental Society and the DC Dental Society. She practices a wide variety of general dentistry procedures, including esthetic crown and bridge work, porcelain veneers, composite bonding, root canal therapy, and implant restoration. She takes great pride in her work, and patient comfort is her top priority.
Outside of the dental office, Dr. O is an avid snowboarder and enjoys playing tennis and keeping active. You’ll likely catch her at Barry’s Bootcamp or Soul Cycle in her free time. She also loves traveling, exploring DC, and spending time with her friends, family, and Birman cat Theo.

I had not seen a dentist in a while and was a bit apprehensive about reengaging, mainly due to prior bad experiences with US dentists (i.e., unnecessary procedures, high prices). Dr. Oriani and her staff laid any apprehensions to rest. The staff were all courteous, helpful, and kind. Dr. Oriani went through every aspect of my current oral health and what steps she recommends should be taken to improve it - whether at home or through dental work. Everything was laid out, including prices, without putting any pressure on me to make a decision then and there. Would definitely recommend for anyone in the DC area looking for a high quality dentist. Never thought I would write this but I am looking forward to going back and making my oral health the best it can be!

I had my first visit with Dr. Oriani today for a routine six-month cleaning, and I’m so glad I chose this office. She was kind, communicated clearly, and made me feel at ease throughout the appointment. She was gentle and thorough during the cleaning, took the time to explain any dental concerns, and also pointed out what I was doing well, which I really appreciated. It’s rare to find a provider who’s both thorough and encouraging. I can confidently say I’ve found my new dentist!

I had a great experience at this office! I broke a front tooth over the weekend, and they were able to fit me in on Monday. Dr. Oriani was warm, welcoming, and clearly communicated treatment options. By the end of the appointment, the tooth looked better than it did before I broke it. Additionally, the front office staff was very friendly, and they were extremely transparent about pricing. I’ll definitely be returning in the future.

I should have done much more homework on pricing and services. Caveat emptor. DO YOUR HOMEWORK on pricing and service comparisons. Charges for these services were well - WELL - over published industry average. OK, i get it - but I have no idea if they actually performed high quality work! How can we know? And no attempt was made to explain how the process works and why. And on top of that, I need to change to another Dr. as a new specialist. I made an appointment there and then cancelled when the specialist didint return my calls requesting dollar estimates and to fully explain the procedure. The last place I ever want to be is in a dentist chair and this experience reinforced that sentiment.

Probably the best dental experience I’ve ever had! The dental assistant was so positive and made me feel so comfortable. I am someone who really does not like going to the dentist but yesterday’s visit was great. The dentist also made me feel very comfortable and relaxed and everyone was kind. Thank you!

My hygienist was great and very informative. While I didn’t spend much time with Dr. Oriani, she was also great. Very thoughtful and rather than moving straight to fillings she suggested a watch on certain teeth. Would highly recommend this team.

I was expecting to have my cleaning done by a dental assistant, but I was pleasantly surprised Dr. Oriani did everything - x-rays, exam, and cleaning. They have some cool technology, so she was able to show me how well my teeth were doing. She's very personable. I highly recommend her!

Dr. Oriani calmed all of my dental-related fears. Going to the dentist can be nerve-racking for me but her calm and friendly demeanor and ability to explain all of my dental procedures with ease and in detail made my experience very positive. She did expert work on my new fillings and made my teeth cleaner than they've been in years. I look forward to continuing to see her for all of my dental needs.
