About Dr. Olivier Nicolay

Olivier Nicolay, a native of France, was born in Lorraine and grew up near Paris, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) from Université Paris Cité (formerly Université René Descartes). After two years in private practice, he enrolled at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in Boston for three years to study orthodontics and conduct research in that field. At the end of his studies, he was awarded a Certificate in Orthodontics and a Master of Medical Sciences.
Because of his experience in research and to gain more knowledge and experience, he decided to pursue an academic career. Dr. Nicolay taught postgraduate students and was involved in research at Ohio State University. In 1989, he assumed the position of Program Director at Columbia University, where he also earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree while pursuing his interests in research and teaching orthodontics. He has been a member of the NYU College of Dentistry since 2002.

Overall the appointment to check on a minor issue took 2.5hours. The provider I booked with saw me for a few minutes but the person treating me was someone different (since I didnt get a chance to research them I had no idea about qualifications or anything else) this lady walked away several times during treatment and was loudly chatting with colleagues. The treatment room looked like some kind of backroom and not completely sterile. I felt uncomfortable and would not go back. Part of their mandatory intake is also taking xray and several pictures, up charging even when it's not necessary.

Doctor Nicolay is very competent, I was taken care of very quickly, we quickly understood the reason for my coming, and I had a very nice team, and pedagogue to explain to me what we were going to do on my dentition. I recommend, and I am not disappointed. Go ahead with your eyes closed, Dr. Nicolay and his team are all very attentive and professional.
