About Dr. Penny Wong

Dr. Penny Wong, DDS, FAGD, is excited to be part of the dynamic team at Hygge Laser Dentistry after five years of practicing in Texas and earning her Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry—an achievement held by only 6% of general dentists in the U.S. and Canada. Originally from both Calgary, Alberta and Austin, Texas, Dr. Wong is grateful to now call the beautiful Pacific Northwest home, where the natural beauty perfectly aligns with her love of the outdoors and community connection. She holds Doctorate of Dental Surgery with Research Honors from the University of Texas Health Science Center in San Antonio. Dr. Wong is currently advancing her clinical expertise through training with the Kois Center and pursuing Fellowship in the American Academy of Implant Dentistry. Beyond the dental chair, Dr. Wong is passionate about giving back—whether through volunteering with local dental nonprofits or serving meals at the food bank. While practicing in Texas, she was honored with nominations for Central Texas’s New Dentist of the Year in both 2023 and 2024 and served on several local dental boards. Outside of dentistry, you’ll find Dr. Wong spending quality time with loved ones and her pup, Walnut. She enjoys cooking, playing board games, and taking dips in the Sound—especially when the sun is shining
