About Dr. Rajesh Kamdar

Dr. Kamdar began his dental career at Nair Hospital and Dental College in Bombay, India, earning his BDS (Bachelor in Dental Surgery) there in 1971.
Spending one year interning at his alma mater in both the Departments of Operative Dentistry and Pedodontics, he then passed the National Board and New York State Board Exams, earning his New York State License as a General Dentist in 1975. He went to work at Laguardia Hospital for the IV Team before becoming an Associate and practicing General Dentistry with Dr. Israel and Dr. Kirshen in the Bronx and later began his own private practice in Massapequa, New York. He became a dentist to help patients restore their smile and tooth function, because he feels it is a very gratifying goal to achieve.
In 1981 Dr. Kamdar became owner of Preferred Dental Associates, practicing General Dentistry full time, building a successful practice which continues to this day. He also continues his education, plays golf and tennis and enjoys studying management courses. A particular joy Dr. Kamdar relishes in is helping struggling students with their tuition, books, and housing needs in his native India.

Came back to the office after a few years. I tried other offices in my neighborhood but none were like Preferred Dental Care. When I come I feel they listen to me and actually care about me. I love this office & recommend everyone to come here. I am back to stay.

I wish the Doctor had more interaction with me. Make sure you review the images or X-rays and tell the assistant what you need to take. On the other hand, the assistant was very kind and knew how to explain what I needed to do.

Very beautiful office, looked more trendy and welcoming than the typical dentist office. Staff was nice and friendly. There aren’t any “rooms”, more of an opened space with partitioned stations.
For COVID, there were air filters at every station which made me feel safe. But they also don’t ask patients to put on their mask once it’s off which made me feel a bit less safe. For example, between x-rays, teeth cleaning, and seeing the dentist, there was a 10-20 min wait each time. They did not ask me to put my mask back on between waiting and when I did, even said I didn’t have to. If you’re really cautious about Covid, that may be a concern to you.
However I would definitely come back here after the pandemic is over. Only other improvements would be wait time.
