About Dr. Raquel Fontanez

Dr. Raquel Fontanez was born and raised in Puerto Rico then received her Doctorate of Medicine in Dentistry from the University of Puerto Rico School of Dental Medicine. After her dental school training, Dr. Raquel moved to New York City, completed her general practice residency, and was accepted into the Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics Program at Bronx Care Health Systems. Her strong passion for orthodontics motivated her to pursue post-graduate training–she then completed a fellowship in Craniofacial and Surgical Orthodontics at Jacobi Medical Center. Dr. Raquel was always interested in the field of Orthodontics because creating the perfect smile is like solving a beautiful puzzle! She is a dedicated and passionate orthodontist who enjoys creating awesome smiles that positively impact her patients’ lives. Dr. Raquel is board certified by the American Board of Orthodontics and is an active member of the American Association of Orthodontists.
