About Rekha Pawar

Dr. Rekha Pawar is a Board-Certified specialist in Endodontics who graduated from UCONN School of Dental Medicine and joined the practice in 2011. She graduated with a bachelor’s degree in dental surgery from Bangalore University in 1998. After four years of general dentistry practice in India, she came to the United States. She completed a residency and fellowship program in Advanced General Dentistry at the University of Connecticut Heath Center. She subsequently received specialty training in Endodontics, fulfilling a decade-long wish to specialize in this field. She completed her Endodontic Residency and received a Master’s Degree in Endodontics from the University of Connecticut School of Dental Medicine. She is currently a Clinical Instructor in the Division of Endodontology at UCONN, and lectures in selected courses at the dental school. Dr. Pawar is a member in national and local specialty-related professional organizations and keeps up with the latest developments in Endodontology. She has conducted clinical research, investigating the efficacy of newly available Endodontic technology, for which she received the Dentsply Oral Research Presentation Award from the American Association of Endodontists. She strives to provide optimal care to all patients, including diagnosis, non-surgical and surgical root canal therapy using microscopes. In addition to providing Endodontic care for adults, Dr. Pawar’s clinical interests include providing Endodontic care to the pediatric patient population. Her experience and collaborative efforts with members of the pediatric dentistry community while at UCONN and the Connecticut Children’s Medical Center provide her with the background to manage children with endodontic therapeutic needs. Dr. Pawar is married and the mother of two boys. She treasures the time that she spends with her family. In addition to her passion for Endodontics, she loves cooking, knitting, quilting and traveling.
