My 1st red flag should’ve been that I booked an appt at the Arlington location and wasn’t told it was in DC until I called to see what I needed to bring as a new patient. I wasn’t seen by the dentist I booked with but Dr. Y was kind, his assistant on the other hand was very rude and condescending!! When I was pulled out to discuss pricing her 1st comment was I had basic insurance and it doesn’t cover anything. When I told her I’ve never had to pay this much for a deep cleaning she told me that’s impossible, when I asked to speak with the dentist on other options she told me he was busy with patients and said I’d be waiting an hour…I was his patient and well within my appointment time. When I was able to speak with him he mentioned payment plans she did not offer. She told me that as his assistant she knew the answers to my questions when I said I’d prefer to ask the dentist and said she did not like my tone, my voice was shaking as I was trying not cry. I won’t be going back.

This office felt strange to me. The woman at the front desk was unfriendly, and the office was dirty. The x-ray machine, which had an expired certification on the machine, wasn’t working properly, and they had to x-ray me 3 times before getting a clear image. They also struggled to turn on the TVs to show my results as they had lost their remotes. After just 10 minutes, they suggested surgery right away, even though I didn’t know what my issue was before coming in. Overall, the office seemed disorganized but overly eager to push services.

I went to this provider by looking at Google reviews. The doctor is well experienced and completed overall procedure in less than an hour ( 4 wisdom teeth extraction). I wish the doctor talked to me at least few minutes explaining the procedure, but he asked me to just read and sign the consent . I felt like I was an entity as there was no conversation with me before or after the procedure, even though the procedure was done well.

He was extremely patient with me and explained everything in detail. He recognized that I was in so much pain and signed the surgical consent without reading it so he reviewed it with me and made sure I understood my risks and possible consequences. He didn't start the extraction until i was completely numb. In fact, I didn't realize he had already extracted it until I felt the thread on my face and he was telling me he was going to suture me. I was very impressed with his bedside manners, professionalism, friendliness, and skills. I would recommend him to all especially someone with severe anxiety like me.
