About Dr. Rita Mitbavkar

Dr. Rita Mitbavkar is proud to have been providing excellent dental service for the past 8 years. Her comfort-centered approach has led most of her patients to describe her as a different kind of dentist: caring, gentle, and patient. She takes time to listen to your concerns, thereby providing you with the best dental care possible. Her passion for dentistry and sincere interest in her patients make them feel welcomed and well cared for.
Dr. Rita graduated from KVG Dental College & Hospital (Mangalore, India) with a Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1998. After completing her BDS, she worked in India before receiving her California dental license in 2007. Dr. Rita worked as an associate dentist in Goa, India, from 1998 to 2002, before relocating to the Bay Area. From 2004 to 2007, she worked as a dental assistant at Dr. Romy Singh's dental clinic in Sunnyvale. From 2007 to 2011, she was an associate dentist at Smilecare Family Dentistry in the San Ramon and San Jose locations. She has continued to improve her skills by completing continuing education programs in all aspects of general and cosmetic dentistry. She is extremely comfortable with children of all ages.
Dr. Rita has been married for the past 9 years and resides in Sunnyvale. Outside of her dental profession, she loves traveling to international locations, gardening, and reading.

Probably the most clear dental visit I had in my life. Both Lindsay (dental assistant) and Dr. Rita, were extremely nice, gentle and caring. They gave me a gentle nudge to start flossing properly if I want to keep my teeth until old age :) explained all the photos and x-rays in detail and recommended follow-up treatments. Great experience.

Dr. Rita is amazing! Can’t recommend her and her staff enough. I went in for dental pain about two weeks ago and was very impressed with Dr. Rita’s diagnostic measures - I’ve had past dentists recommend procedures without much thought or explanation, but Dr Rita showed me exactly why I needed a root canal by doing cold tests, so I could feel exactly what she was explaining. Fast forward to today and I finally got the root canal! they made it such a smooth experience and checked in with me constantly to see how I was doing/if I needed a break/etc. It’s so evident that the team truly cares about the patient.

I drive out from Pleasanton to be seen by Dr. Mitbavkar. That's how much I appreciate her and her staff's work. I'm big on bedside manner and her and her staff are friendly, respectful, considerate and knowledgeable. I've always gotten the sense that which ever procedures have been recommended to me, are explained and it never feels like it's something that's not genuinely appropriate for me just to make a buck, as I've experienced in other dental offices. Additionally I'm a patient that likes to be informed and have my questions answered genuinely and patiently and Dr. Rita and her staff have done just that.
