About Dr. Riya Bandekar
Dr. Bandekar (pronounced baan-day- Kerr)
Dr. Bandekar was born and raised in Mumbai – the home of Indian cinema. She received her initial degree, Bachelor of Dental Surgery (B.D.S), at the prestigious Nair Hospital and Dental College. She practiced in Mumbai for three years and then decided to further her education overseas.
Her first home in the United States was Denver, Colorado. She studied at the Anschutz medical campus where she received her Doctor of Dental Surgery – (D.D.S.) from the University of Colorado School of dental medicine. Work took her to Indianapolis and then Boston after graduation, but the mountains brought her back to Denver.
She loves the surgical artistry that is dentistry. She believes it is necessary to have a strong foundation and then build up that knowledge with all the dental advancements available now.
She’s graduated with honors from the AAID Maxicourse and is on her path to becoming a fellow in Implantology. She’s a certified Invisalign provider.
She strives to advance her dental knowledge with frequent education and is an active member of the American Dental Association, the Colorado Dental Association, the Metropolitan Denver Dental Society, the American Academy of Implantology, and the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry.
In her free time, she enjoys kickboxing, yoga, and hiking in the mountains. She also has two loves other than dentistry- her husband and tacos!

I will tell anyone that I had a great experience with everyone there. Everybody I talked to made me feel comfortable. The dentist was real patient with me and she explained everything to me more than one time. I can't wait to get my teeh fixed.
