Dr. Robert D. Lipschutz received his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine in his hometown of Philadelphia. After moving to New York City, he completed a general practice residency at Metropolitan Hospital Center and Coler Memorial Hospital.
Dr. Lipschultz then completed a fellowship in advanced education in general dentistry at Columbia University. Dr. Lipschutz maintains clinical excellence through ongoing continuing education and staying current with the latest technologies and advances in dentistry. He is an active member of the American Dental Association, New York State Dental Association, New York County Dental Society, Japanese Medical Society of America, Psi Omega Dental Fraternity, Phi Beta Kappa, and Psi Chi National Psychology Honor Society.

I had to go to Dr. Lipschutz for what could be thought of us a stressful procedure. Not only did he perform the procedure quickly and painlessly, but he made me feel comfortable and relaxed the whole time. I have never been so enthusiastic about a dentist before, I feel like I found a real gem. Dr. Lipschutz has a perfect bedside manner, clearly explains everything that you'll need to do and any options you may have, and really listens to questions and answers thoughtfully.

Went here to take care of a chipped tooth quickly. He was able to take a look and give me valuable insights into what was going on with my teeth and why I had the chip. He also talked about follow up and what we could look at/be done. I felt very comfortable right away and like I was in good hands!

I’ve been going to Dr. Lipschutz for many years and he is the best dentist in the city. I know how hard it is to find a good dentist in the city from my experience but look no further. He is very through and his work done on my teeth has been lasting for years. I trust Dr. Lipschutz as he never pressures for any unnecessary work or cut corners unlike other dentists in the city. Not the cheapest but worth it for the long lasting work.

I have been a patient for 15 years. Dr. Lipschutz is with no exaggerations, the absolute best dentist in NY. I haven't seen a dentist in other parts of the world but I'm certain he's one of the best in the world. I have sent many patients and always recommended him over the years and everybody says WOW, you're right. He lives up to your hype. He follows up with my regularly to check up on his work and my teeth, not just for reminders but to check on his own work too. He explains everything step by step with detail and no filters. He plays relaxing classic music at the practice but at heart loves Iron Maiden. Most of all he has the most comfortable seat Ive ever sat in. It's better than my Herman Miller chairs and I've owned quite a bit over the years. I fall asleep in it almost every time. He takes pride in his craft and you can feel it in his energy. I am honestly not very good with following up visits and check ups and he genuinely gets upset for my teeth. Trust me if you are reading this. Go for a cleanup and give it a test drive. It'll feel like test driving a 911S.

Since my initial extraction in December, I've had two fifty-year old caps removed, cavities that had developed under them removed, and new porcelain caps installed. I have a severe hearing loss and he takes the time to write down what he needs to tell me so that I'm sure to understand it. I'm very satisfied and highly recommend.

Today was my second visit into Dr. Lipschutz office and I am extremely happy I found him. I am scared of the dentist because I've had so many bad experiences before but Dr. Lipschutz and his team all make me feel at ease. Victor is amazing! He is so helpful and accommodating and answers any questions. I've never had to wait to be seen. Dr. Lipschutz is patient, funny, knowledgeable and I like how he tells me everything he's about to do. Dr. Lipschutz was recommended to me by a friend and in turn I have recommended Dr. Lipschutz. I have been going to him for well over 10 years and I have always been happy with his work as well as the work of his staff. He and his staff are very professional and very friendly. It is a pleasant visit from the minute one steps into the office to the minute one leaves. And despite the fact that I am no longer working in Manhattan, I will still make the trip into NYC from NJ. From the soothing classical music playing in the background to the welcoming assistant to Dr. Lipschutz himself, these all contributed to a very positive and angst-free visit. After having had very different experiences with a different dentist for the past couple of years, Dr. Lipschutz and his team's friendly and professional attitudes really helped me feel welcome and a bit like opening a bottle of champagne afterwards (not because I had no dental issues, rather because there exists dentists like Dr. Lipschutz).

This dentist is the most amazing person in the world. I saw him on a Saturday as an emergency with excruciating tooth pain, having seen another dentist the day before who was setting me up for an emergency root canal 3 days later. I could not take the pain any more and went to see Dr Lipschultz the following day. I arrived in a flood of tears with pain uncontrollable with max dose Percocet. He spent 2 hours with me, beside manner was unbelievably fantastic (and I usually hate the dentist ++++). He diagnosed me with a pretty severe gum problem that wasn't a tooth issue at all. He did a pretty radical clean of some deep pockets of inflammation in the gum, then sealed the pockets with tiny microspheres of antibiotics that release into the tissue over 30 days. . He numbed me up so well that the procedure itself was painless. My pain went from a 10/10 to a 1/10 in less than 1 hour and I slept through the night without any pain and this morning I am painfree. Dr Lipschultz saved me a root canal, that not only did I not need but also would not have resolved my problem or my pain. I have a new found respect for dentists and this man is my hero !!!!!!! I am SO grateful for what he did for me, and how kind a caring he was. He even texted me at 10pm the same night I saw him to check I was doing ok. I am so fortunate I found Dr Lipschultz on zocdoc and he saved my sanity, my pain and my tooth !!!! I would also like to say a big thank you to the male receptionist, victor who was so calming, caring and sympathetic as I sat in the waiting room crying in uncontrollable pain and he calmly reassured me Dr Lipschutz would take good care of me and make me better. He was right!!!! I am a doctor myself and cannot speak more highly of the fantastic care I got from Dr Lipschutz and his team.

I love going to the dentist now. I came to replace an old dental filling, and was a little anxious at first (all the needles, drills, and whatnot). However, Dr. Lipschutz quickly put me at ease. Very personable, professional, calm, and gentle. Didn't feel a thing. Highly recommend.
