About Dr. Roshanak Rastegar

Dr. Roshanak Rastegar is a board-certified pediatric dentist providing oral and dental care to young patients from birth through adolescence. Some of the services she provides includes preventative care, all types of restorations and crowns on baby and adult teeth, baby tooth nerve treatment, space maintaining appliances, and treatment under “Happy Gas”, or Nitrous Oxide, for anxious children. She offers the highest quality care that every child deserves with gentle, patient-centered care for the youngest members of your family and helping your child feel safe and secure through one-on-one attention. She prioritizes providing dental evaluation and intervention services for individuals with a broad range of physical, developmental, learning and/or behavior challenges. Her goal is to create a positive and fun-filled dental experience for a kid to remember for the rest of their life. She is confident in being a great listener, understand that each child is unique, and each parent has different preferences and concerns, so every child deserves a customized dental care. Dr. Rastegar achieved her Doctor of Dental Surgery degree at the Shahed University in Iran in 2003. She completed a Pediatric Dentistry certificate and a master’s degree at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. She was awarded UAB Graduate School Fellowship for master research project on antimicrobial effect of Licorice extract against oral bacteria that can cause dental caries. She has dental licenses in 3 countries: USA, Australia, Iran. She has volunteer experience doing Dental screening in multiple primary schools at Birmingham, Alabama, providing outreach dental services at multiple community centers in USA, Australia, and Iran, including the Alabama Institute for the Deaf and Blind. She is an active member of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, American Dental Association.
