About Dr. Ross Stangeland
Dr. Stangeland believes dentistry joins the arts and sciences. “I was born to be a dentist,” he says. Dr. Stangeland received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree with honors from the University of the Pacific School of Dentistry in 1970. He established his practice in Belmont, California, in 1971 and moved it to Redwood Shores in 1980.
In keeping with his commitment to excellence and continuing education, Dr. Stangeland has completed extensive postgraduate training in all phases of dentistry, with special emphasis on Cosmetic, Reconstructive, Prosthetic, Implant, and Temporomandibular joint study.
Dr. Stangeland is a member of the American Dental Association, the California Dental Association, and has been a long-standing member of the San Mateo County Dental Society. He is also an active member of the Belmont Rotary Club.

I was a but surprised that the initial visit was so thorough and it didn't involve the actual cleaning. So initially thinking it might be a waste of time, but it turned out to be a good experience and allowed me to get to know the doc a bit more than usual after only one visit -- made me appreciate his knowledge and manner well and gain some trust pretty quickly. He also was able to pinpoint some pain I'd been having for a while that my old dentist didn't find -- small crack in my rear molar that I need to keep an eye on! Glad I found him! Zoc doc also worked well to search for a new local dentist and set up the apt after hours. The office contacted me the next business day to verify. Worked well.

Dr. Stangeland and his staff are awesome. They are doing a great job with all the Covid-19 precautions and I felt very comfortable in their office. I was just there for a cleaning but was impressed with their process and the measures they took to keep both the staff and patients safe. Highly recommend Dr. Stangeland!!

Great service, very professional and knowledgeable. Provided me with great suggestions on how to improve my dental health.
I would suggest them for new patients to first check if the patient has already filled the personal information form online to not have to do it again in the office.

Dr. Strangeland is well rated in multiple places and I can understand why - he is great! I even accidentally bumped my appointment up by a week and they accommodated me. Staff and facility are wonderful, highly recommend.

I am so happy I found them on this site! The staff is warm and welcoming. They talk you through everything that is going to happen for your visit. They broke down the cost of procedures and showed me exactly what needs to be fix and why. They also gave me a referral to a dental surgeon to help with the removal of my upper wisdom teeth. I will refer anyone I know who's looking for a great dentist to go there!
