About Dr. Ruben Yelizar
Dr. Ruben Yelizar, a Queens native, proudly serves Long Island as one of its leading and most compassionate dentists. He earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from New York University, where he graduated with Honors in Aesthetic Dentistry under the direct tutelage of Dr. John Calamia, a pioneer in the field.
Hungry for more, Dr. Yelizar advanced his clinical training by completing a one-year General Practice Residency at King's County Hospital. There, he connected with a multitude of patients and applied what he learned at NYU, along with knowledge from multiple continuing education courses, to provide the most up-to-date, advanced treatment options. His care ranges from full-mouth rehabilitative treatments involving digital dentistry and implant surgery to emergency pain management and more.
He has since completed several hundred hours of advanced continuing education, becoming a Fellow of both the International Congress of Oral Implantologists and the American Academy of Implant Prosthodontics. These achievements emphasize his commitment to providing the highest level of care when performing surgery.
On a more personal note, Dr. Yelizar has a passion for all things art-from drawing and photography to music, movies, and more. He worked for over a decade as an event cinematographer and editor before realizing he wanted a more personal connection in his day-to-day interactions. This led him to his current line of work, where he combines his love of art with his desire to learn and help others.

my first teeth cleaning appointment with Dr. Ruben Yelizar, and I couldn’t be more pleased with the experience. As someone with a low tolerance for pain and a bit of dental anxiety, I was extremely nervous about the procedure. However, Dr. Yelizar made the entire process completely painless and comfortable. He took the time to address all my concerns and explained everything in detail, ensuring I felt at ease throughout the appointment. His caring demeanor and thorough approach made me feel like more than just another patient.
Additionally, I had a wonderful experience with Terry, She was incredibly helpful and kind, taking the time to understand my insurance situation and confirm my appointment. Terry even called me on the day of my appointment to remind me, which was a thoughtful touch.
I’m genuinely grateful to have found this practice. Dr. Yelizar and his team go above and beyond to provide excellent care and make patients feel valued. Highly recommend!
