About Dr. Sergio Kellesarian
Dr. Kellesarian is originally from Caracas, Venezuela. In 2004, he graduated first in his class among 149 students from Universidad Santa Maria, where he received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery. He also earned a Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Rochester. He continued his training at the Eastman Institute for Oral Health and the University of Rochester, completing postgraduate studies in Advanced Education in General Dentistry (AEGD) and General Practice Residency (GPR). Dr. Kellesarian holds a Master of Science in Health Professions Education from the University of Rochester.
Dr. Kellesarian has been actively involved in academia, holding positions as Assistant Professor of Clinical Dentistry at Universidad Santa Maria and the University of Rochester. He teaches and mentors undergraduate and postdoctoral dental students and residents in all aspects of dentistry.
He has extensive experience in all areas of dentistry, including the management of medically compromised and developmentally disabled patients. Dr. Kellesarian practices across all disciplines of dentistry, including general and restorative dentistry, oral surgery, periodontics, endodontics, prosthodontics, and cosmetic dentistry. His guiding principle is never to forget that we are human beings caring for the health of other human beings, a philosophy he calls “The Human Side of Dentistry.” For him, it is not just about fixing teeth; it is about becoming an advocate for his patients’ health and well-being.
Dr. Kellesarian is also passionate about dental research. Over the past 15 years, he has conducted and coordinated community-based and clinical research, publishing over 50 articles in prestigious medical and dental journals. His research focuses on the interactions between oral health and systemic diseases.

I’m new to SOFL and needed to find a dentist for a chipped tooth.
Dr. K had a great bedside manner and communicated very well! And the entire staff was friendly and competent. I also noticed the staff were very respectful with each other. I will add that I was taken back almost immediately and the appointment seemed timely.

I was notified by the dental hygienist while in the chair that the dentist had called in sick and would not be seen during my first visit as a new patient. It took about an hour and a half to take various scans and X-rays to then be told that my insurance only covers a “basic cleaning” and that I would need to get an “intermediate cleaning” (antibiotics applied to the gums??). The up-charge was pretty significantly higher that it ever was at my previous dentist, even though this provider was in-network. The whole experience felt a little exploitative, so I decided against it. Needless to say I will not be returning.

Arrived to my first appointment and service was excellent! The first appointment is a general consultation and panoramics, for dental cleaning you will need to schedule a next appointment. Doctor is super nice and friendly, he is venezuelan and speaks spanish! I will come back for my dental cleaning and for an additional consultation for possible esthetic improvements, overall super happy with today’s experience

Went for a cleaning. After 4 hours of wasting my time, I never received a cleaning and they asked for me to schedule a 2nd appointment for the actual cleaning.
