About Dr. Shane Porter
Dr. Shane Porter is a native San Antonian, born and raised, and a proud Spurs fan. He began his dental career in the summers, helping out with front office work, until he eventually transitioned to a dental assistant. As an undergraduate at The University of Texas at Austin, he majored in Kinesiology. Dr. Porter then earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio, where he was recognized for his distinguished clinical skills. He is a member of the San Antonio District Dental Society, Texas Dental Association, and American Dental Association, and actively volunteers in community service events. In his spare time, he enjoys pickleball, yoga, live music, and exploring the outdoors with his mini Aussie, Ziggy.

Overall it’s a drs. appointment so you can’t just walk in and slap hands, although you probably could with this team. I appreciate the time Shane , his father and their assistants spent on me!!! we have great conversations, and the atmosphere is just relaxing. it’s great to be greeted by name coming and going, kinda makes you feel real important!!! If you gotta get ya grill fixed look for Mark and Shane porter’s office you won’t be disappointed!!!! I still have teeth because of them??

Great experience at Dr. Porter’s office. Staff was friendly and explained everything that was being done during my visit. This was one of the best cleaning and examination experiences I’ve had in my 53 years of going to the dentist. Highly recommend this office for anyone needing dental services. A++

I had the most incredible experience seeing Dr. Shane Porter for the first time. The entire office staff was incredibly friendly and helpful. I have a lot of anxiety, especially when going to the dentist, and Dr. Porter and the whole office made me feel so comfortable and eased any worries I could have had. I was really nervous about getting back into a dental routine since I haven’t seen a dentist in ages. Thought I’d be shamed for not paying better attention to my dental health. My experience with Dr. Porter and his staff proved to be the exact opposite as they welcomed me, treated me with friendly care and gave me hope in getting my health back in check. I was amazed with the experience and my anxiety is now ten times lower than when I went in.

I had the BEST experience I could have in a dentist office. Staff super personable & courteous. They were actually nice and friendly. I’m a new patient and this first initial visit yet it went so smoothly.
Dr. Shane Porter was awesome! Very friendly, not judgey at all. I felt so welcomed and he discussed everything with me in ways I fully comprehend. In short, he didn’t beat around the bush or use fancy words. He was straight up and honest. Something I appreciate so much.
Had a few laughs too. Definitely needed in the dentist office where even adults can be a bit on edge. I highly recommend Shane Porter, DDS to anyone wanting and needing care. You won’t be disappointed.

I saw Dr.Shane Porter and I can honestly say it was the nicest visit I have ever had with a dentist. He was so thorough and explained everything to me before he did it. Very charismatic unlike other day, and Tess, that I’ve been to in the past, he talked to me made me laugh, it helped me feel less nervous as well. Great dentist office! They explained all the types of imaging they captured, explained everything they were doing as they were doing, and were very friendly. I had only booked a check up, not a cleaning, but they had a cancellation and offered to do the cleaning while I was there! They didn’t try to upsell me on anything I don’t need - always a good sign. I haven’t been to a dentist in over 3 years and I swear my teeth are the cleanest they’ve been.

I saw Dr. Shane Porter. He knew I was very nervous having dental work done. He explained everything before and during my procedure; and, he immediately put me at ease. He made sure that I had no questions after the procedure was completed. I would highly recommend him.

Shane is great and helped out a lot with some dental problems and cracked fillings I’ve been dealing with since a bad mountain bike crash a couple years ago. I’ve had some bad experiences at another dental office and came here at the recommendation of my dad. I could not have made a better decision!
Great staff and always made sure I was comfortable with any procedure we did.

I am so pleased with the care I received by Dr. Shane during my visits at his practice. He has a very gentle and calming voice and hand, he truly puts you at ease and explains dental procedures in detail and answers every question that you have regarding your dental care. I highly recommend him and his dental practice, his dad is awesome too!
