Dr. Sharon H. Ornstein graduated from Howard University College of Dentistry in 1986 with honors. She received her specialty training in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery from Howard University Hospital, DC General Hospital, and the V.A.M.C. in Washington, D.C. Dr. Ornstein served for 10 years as an attending surgeon and eventually Head of the Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery Department at the Kingston Regional Hospitals in Jamaica, West Indies, as well as maintaining a full-scope private practice. Dr. Ornstein has special interests and extensive experience in the area of dental implants, wisdom teeth extractions, bone grafting, bone repositioning, oral biopsies, and cosmetic surgery services. Dr. Ornstein is a Diplomate of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. She has been certified since 1994 and recertified in 2004, giving patients and their families an added level of confidence in their care. She is also a Fellow of the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons as well as the International Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons. She is an active member of the North Texas Society of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons, the Texas Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the Dallas County Dental Society. Dr. Ornstein’s patients can be confident in the practice’s team of highly trained and skilled clinicians and staff. All surgical assistants are trained in both basic and advanced cardiac life support. The entire staff is committed to continued education and learning and attends surgical and medical lectures, meetings, and conventions to stay informed on new techniques, the latest product and the newest equipment. Their active involvement in various professional dental and medical associations helps them stay abreast of the changes and recommendations for the profession. Dr. Ornstein moved to the DFW Metroplex in 2000 and maintains hospital privileges at Medical City of Dallas.
