About Dr. Shawn Gutman
Dr. Gutman, feeling unfulfilled as an engineer, changed his career path to dentistry and attended Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, where he earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS). After graduating, he remained at Columbia to complete his three-year residency training in orthodontics, earning a Certificate in Orthodontics.
Dr. Gutman is a board-certified orthodontist. He currently holds a part-time clinical faculty appointment at Columbia, where he teaches orthodontic residents.
When Dr. Gutman is not seeing patients, he is busy with his aquariums at home. He is an avid aquascaper and freshwater shrimp breeder.

I have been in treatment with Dr. gutman for the past 7 months and have noticed a remarkable difference in my smile. The best part is, that no one can tell that I am undergoing orthodontic treatment! It’s invisible! I have the braces behind my teeth as I watch my teeth straighten. Best decision working with this highly skilled doc and can’t wait for the finish line!

Just finished a year long treatment with Dr. Gutman. From day 1 he was honest and knowledgeable about every aspect of my treatment. At each appointment he was patient and took all the time to answer my endless questions. Can’t recommend him enough.

Dr. Gutman is the best! I was nervous about starting orthodontic Invisalign treatment, but he really listened to my concerns and was so reassuring. He's extremely knowledgeable, and it's clear that he really cares about his patients! I'm so happy with my smile, and the Invisalign process was very smooth
